UFC 6 Review
What’s better than UFC 6? I’m seriously asking, I haven’t watched it yet but I’ll find out after I watch it. UFC 3 is still number one in the rankings but the question is, will UFC 6 be better? Let’s find out in the review of UFC 6.
Oleg Taktarov Vs. Dave Benteau (Quarter Finals)
Benteau goes for a takedown and he lands it. This is exactly here Benteau wants it. Taktarov fries to get up and Benteau lands brutal punches. Taktarov locks in a guillotine and that is tight. Taktarov wins as Benteau taps out and Taktarov is through to the semi finals.
My Thoughts: This was a short fight, Taktarov struggled at the beginning but he came through.

Pat Smith Vs. Rudyard Moncayo (Quarter Finals)
Smith runs and JUST KICKS MONCAYO DOWN. He goes for a guillotine, Smith outside trips him and they’re on the ground, he applies a rear naked and Moncayo taps out!
My Thoughts: Dominate performance.
My Thoughts: Dominate performance.
Paul Varelans Vs. Cal Worsham (Quarter Finals)
Worsham few for a body kick. They both exchange big strikes, Worsham gets the better so far. Varleane lands a big elbow to the back of Worsham’s head and Worsham is out cold!
My Thoughts: That was a brutal knock out, that must be a concussion.

Tank Abbott Vs. John Matua (Quarter Finals)
Abbott doesn’t give Matua a chance and just smashes him about for 20 seconds.
My Thoughts: That was a dominant display!

Oleg Taktarov Vs. Anthony Macias (Semi Finals)
Macias is replacing Pat Smith who has cramps. Macias comes running towards Taktarov who applies a guillotine and Macias immediately taps out.
My Thoughts: This was 9 seconds, fixed fight? Who knows.

Tank Abbott Vs. Paul Varelans (Semi Finals)
Tank takes him down and lies on top of him. They grapple and Abbott throws punches and that’s all she wrote.
My Thoughts: Tank Abbott is through to the finals and will fight Oleg Taktarov.

Oleg Taktarov Vs. Tank Abbott (Finals)
Taktarov goes for a takedown but it’s Abbott who takes him down, he backs off and they stand back up. Tank throws great punches but Taktarov remains standing. Taktarov goes for a standing guillotine and they fall to the ground, it is locked in deep. Abbott gets out and he sits on top of Taktarov. We’re approaching 5 minutes and Abbott is still chilling on top. They get up and clinch, both men look tired. Abbott pins him against the cage and lands a body punch. They go back on the ground, approaching 10 minutes now. Abbott is sucking all the energy out of Taktarov. They get up and Taktarov locks in another tight guillotine, somehow Tank gets out. He now looks to get Tank in a rear naked. Taktarov makes Abbott tap out after over 17 minutes.
My Thoughts: That was a long fight!

Ken Shamrock Vs. Dan Severn
They both shoot for a takedown, they grapple against each other. They clinch for a bit and Severn tries hard for a takedown. Shamrock locks in a guillotine and the hardest man on the planet (Dan Severn) taps out.
My Thoughts: That was a fast fight but it’s clear to see that Shamrock is the face of the UFC now.
Overall Thoughts: This was a fantastic PPV, it was that good that Michael Buffer announced it! This was a fun PPV but where does it go in the rankings?
