The Ultimate Fighter Season 27, Episode 2 Review
Hello and welcome to Episode 2 Of The Ultimate Fighter, the reality competition show where fighters fight to become a fighter on the UFC. Last time we saw John Gunther get choked out in less than a minute. Let’s see what episode 2 has in store.
We kick off the episode with Stipe Miocic changing posters in Team Cormier’s room. The banter is off the charts. We see a lot of training then we see Team Cormier’s reaction to Miocic’s redecoration. Cormier has a good chuckle.

Cormier explains techniques to Thailand Clark who has an argument but the two get over it and start training together. Cormier is such a good coach. I think Clark will listen.
Brad Katona shows us around Dublin and is Cormier’s 6th pick, he will fight Miocic’s first pick: Kyler Phillips.
We get to see Phillips in training and get to see his dog, cat, bunny, hamster,
crab and the rest of the animal kingdom.
There’s a lot of training and we see one of the coaches coach a lot better than the other.

Kyler Phillips (Team Miocic) Vs. Brad Katona (Team Cormier) (FEATHERWEIGHT)
Round 1: It is currently 1-0 to Team Cormier. Phillips hits a good spinning head kick. He does some good strikes as well. Katona goes for a takedown but gets flung down instead. He gets back up and catches Phillips with a good left hand. He does some damaging leg kicks throughout and a decent punching combination. Katona hunts for a takedown and takes Phillips down.
My Thoughts: Katona really developed through this round with help from coach, Daniel Cormier.
Round Winner: Brad Katona (10-9)
Round 2: Phillips hits a head kick, Katona keeps applying the pressure like the previous round. Katona takes him down but they keep scrambling. This has been a much calmer round.
My Thoughts: A good fight overall. It feels like Cormier is a coach while Miocic is watching his favourite fighter on TV.
Round Winner: Brad Katona (20-18)
One judge called the fight a draw which I could see but I had to give Katona the edge. Cormier picks the second lightweight fight on the season as Luis Pena is scheduled to fight against Jose Martinez, join us tomorrow for episode 3 of season 27 Of The Ultimate Fighter.
