It’s been a while since we’ve did an MMA: The Problem With article, in fact it was the 27th of April, when we first did one and the site was only 4 days old! Since then, we haven’t done one single episode in the series so let’s bring it back. I’ve got a problem with money fights so let’s dive deeper.
The Problem With: Interim Champions (Episode 1)
It feels like every UFC PPV has, there’s an interim championship up for grabs. Back in the day, interim titles where there for the purpose of the champion not being able to defend his belt due to injury or something but nowadays it feels like they’re there just for more publicity. UFC can advertise that it’s a champion verse champion fight and the winner gets the undisputed championship which is smart business on their part but the more you think about it, the more it’s a problem.
