Crown Jewel is now over with so let's officially kick off the road to Survivor Series! Speaking of Crown Jewel, everyone's aware of the fact that due to travel issues from the event, a majority of the WWE Superstars who participated on that show were unable to make it back to the states especially in time for Smackdown. But don't worry, there were indeed replacements for the show. Let's recap it shall we?

Show opened with an appearance by Paul Heyman and the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar as Heyman brags about Lesnar's victory over Cain Velasquez the previous night at Crown Jewel. Heyman proceeds to show the entire match in full on the titantron to display Lesnar's dominance over Cain, even though Cain had control for half of that short match. Heyman then goes on to say that Lesnar is more pissed off at the fact that Rey Mysterio tried to interfere with his post match beatdown on Cain and because of that, he's on the hunt for Mysterio. As result, Heyman announces that Brock Lesnar, the WWE Champion in fact, has QUIT Smackdown and will be going to RAW! We weren't done from there as we see Lesnar and Heyman exit the building then suddenly HHH and Shawn Michaels appears as they look on and watch the both of them leave! If only we knew from there what was gonna happen that night.....

Bayley (C) Vs. Nikki Cross (Smackdown Women’s Championship)

Match was a little bit dull at first but picked up at the end of it. Nikki Cross was mostly on the defense throughout the match as she did almost better than anyone ever expected. Bayley of course wasn't gonna let her get the advantage and kept bringing her down whenever she would gain momentum. Sasha Banks tried to interfere a couple of times but Nikki would take her down whenever that she can. Unfortunately Sasha knocked Nikki off the top rope and because of that, Bayley hits her with her own version of a Headlock Driver and pinned her, retaining her title! Suddenly, we see Sasha Banks get taken out by NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler! Baszler comes in and beats down Bayley as fans lost their minds at the sight of this moment. NXT chants broke out loudly and man that awesome to see!

Sami Zayn was backstage being interviewed as he talks about what just transpired with Shayna Baszler. Next thing we know, Matt Riddle and Keith Lee appear as Sami tries to reason with them. Sami already knew what their intentions were so he tried bailing to his car but he runs out to the arena. Riddle and Lee chases him then catches him and tossed him in the ring for them to make an example out of him! Riddle hits Zayn with the Bro-Gerrick then Lee nails him with a Middle Rope Moonsault!

Next we had the MizTV segment as Miz was supposed to interview the new Universal Champion Bray Wyatt, but unfortunately he wasn't in the building for Smackdown. Miz then starts talking about NXT and what's been going on for the night then we were greeted by an appearance from Tomasso Ciampa! Ciampa confronts Miz as he talks about how he's the best in the business, literally breaking his neck for NXT while Miz is just playing actor on the main roster. Miz wasn't fazed by Ciampa's words and even demanded that if Ciampa wanted to make a statement then he should make one immediately. He then challenges Ciampa to a match and we got just that!

Tommaso Ciampa Vs. The Miz

This was a straight forward match was all action. It was more competitive than expected as Miz brought the fight to Ciampa and the match was indeed back and forth. Miz had Ciampa locked in the Figure Four Leg Lock but Ciampa got out of it then brought the fight back to Miz. They had a Knife Edge Chop battle after that then Miz takes him down with the Turnbuckle Clothesline. Miz then attempts an ariel attack but Ciampa catches him with a Knee Strike then hits the Fairytale Ending for the win!

Daniel Bryan was seen walking backstage as he confronts HHH and Shawn Michaels, wondering what they're up to. HHH states that he feels NXT was called out for battle, so he decided to answer the call by showing people what NXT's all about. Bryan then proceeds to challenge HHH to a fight and Hunter was teasing it at first while fans popped huge for it! Then Hunter claims that he doesn't have his gear but he does have someone for Bryan to fight. Hunter brings in none other than the NXT Champion himself, Adam Cole Bay Bay! Bryan then ups the bar by issuing that his match with Cole should be for the NXT Championship and Cole accepts! Bryan vs Cole for the NXT Championship was made official for the main event!

Next, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville were in the ring for a tag match as they prepare to face Carmella and a partner of hers. Carmella's music plays but she's a no show then suddenly we see Bianca Belair ambush both Carmella and Dana Brooke backstage! Rose and Deville were confused then Rhea Ripley and Tegan Nox appeared as they decided to take on the two of them in a impromptu match!

Rhea Ripley & Tegan Nox Vs. Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose

This was a quick match as Rhea battled Mandy while Sonya and Nox went at it outside of ring. Sonya attempted throwing Tegan over the announce table but Tegan reversed it and sent Deville flying, accidentally hitting Renee Young during the process! Tegan then hits Mandy with the Shining Wizard then Rhea applies the Inverted Cloverleaf for the submission win!

Adam Cole (C) Vs. Daniel Bryan (NXT Championship)

As expected, this was a great match! Such short notice, yet these two put on a hell of a match. Started out with some good wrestling action then minute by minute the match picked up. There was even a spot where the two attempted to hit a Suplex on one another but they ended up Suplexing each other over the top rope to the floor! Match continues for a bit as Bryan would go after Cole's left leg by applying the Heel Hook then repeatedly kicking him in that leg. Cole bounces back with Superkicks and even hits a Back Stabber for a near fall. Bryan applied the Labelle Lock then Cole got out of it then nails Cole with a Roundhouse Kick. Bryan then tries to finish off Cole with the Running Knee but Cole countered it with the Superkick then nails the Panama Sunrise/Shining Wizard Combo for the win, retaining his title!

HHH ends the show with the NXT roster as he states that NXT has fired the first shot, now they're anticipating what RAW and Smackdown has to offer! This was definitely a start to what looks like a promising building to Survivor Series as it'll be RAW vs Smackdown vs NXT!
