Final episode of Smackdown before Super Showdown is in the books! This show heavily promoted the appearance of Goldberg as he collides with The Undertaker this Friday at Super Showdown! This was Goldberg's first time appearing on Smackdown. Ever! Besides that big attraction, this episode featured some decent matches and some interesting segments. Let's take a look what went down last night!

Show opened with New Day's Xavier Woods and WWE Champion Kofi Kingston as Kofi talks about his recent visit to his hometown of Ghana West, Africa. He shows us highlights of his trip home and I must say it was very cool to see it. Kofi looked like he was getting emotional as he watched the highlights. He's then interrupted by Dolph Ziggler and Ziggler continues to tell us why he should've been WWE Champion. He then showcases highlights of his career as he feels he didn't receive anything in return for his accomplishments. Kofi tells Dolph that he could've been champion, but at Super Showdown he'll prove to him that he won't be champion. As Dolph leaves, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn arrives as they prepare for a tag match against Woods and Kingston.

The New Day Vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

Good tag match here as both teams went back and forth with each other. Once Kofi got the hot tag, he ran wild and fans were behind him 100%. Xavier kept KO off his back as Kofi delivered the Trouble in Paradise to Zayn for the win for his team! Almost immediately after the match, Dolph Ziggler appears off camera and super kicks both Kofi and Woods! Ziggler has been looking strong lately during the buildup to Super Showdown, but will he actually win the WWE Championship?

Next we have a Moment of Bliss segment with Alexa Bliss and her guest the Smackdown Women's Champion Bayley. Alexa kept asking for coffee instead of asking Bayley questions and this was annoying not only Bayley but the audience too. Bayley finally had enough and got in Alexa's face then Carmella arrives as she talks about challenging for the title. Alexa Bliss also wants a shot at the title even though she's on RAW, but of course she can compete for it because of the Wildcard shit. Charlotte then arrives, annoying the fans even more. She announces a triple threat #1 contender's match between Carmella, Alexa, and herself. You can make a guess on who might win that match.

Backstage we see Carmella looking for R-Truth as he's still in hiding. Carmella's phone rings and the caller turned out to be Shane McMahon himself. Truth ends up talking to Shane as Shane makes a match between Truth and a mystery opponent for the 24/7 Championship. That mystery opponent turned out to be Elias and the match was then announced as a Lumberjack Match!

R-Truth (C) Vs. Elias (Lunberjack Match; 24/7 Championship)

The ring was surrounded by guys who have been chasing Truth for the title for weeks now. Truth had things in his control but then Elias quickly turned things over. Elias his Truth with the Drift Away to pick up the win, becoming a 2 time 24/7 Champion! Immediately afterwards, the superstars began jumping Elias but then they start brawling with each other as Elias got out of dodge. He attempts to crawl away but Truth ends up in front of him then chases him under the ring. As the brawl's still going on, we hear the referee count 3 and suddenly R-Truth is once again the 24/7 Champion! He celebrates then runs away as the chase for his title continues. Very entertaining stuff here I must say.

Next we have Shane McMahon appear with The Revival by his side as he talks about Roman Reigns. He compares Roman to an actual dog, and that he'll kick him to the curb and even put him out of his misery at Super Showdown. Fans chanted This is Boring and they were definitely right. Roman finally appears and Shane orders Dash and Dawson to go attack him but of course Roman fights them off. As Roman walks to the ring with purpose, Drew McIntyre comes out of nowhere and hits him with the Claymore Kick! He throws Roman into the ring then Shane once again spears him and mocks him. Shane lays out Roman two nights in a row and this doesn't look good for Roman. Will the Big Dog overcome the odds this Friday?! 🙃

Charlotte Flair Vs. Alexa Bliss Vs. Carmella (No.1 Contender Smackdown Women’s Championship)

I thought this was fine for what it was. It was cool to see Alexa compete again too. Carmella was the MVP of the match as she look good I thought. Charlotte at one point had the Figure 8 locked in on Carmella but before Carmella would tap, Alexa hits a Twisted Bliss onto Charlotte, pinning her but Carmella broke up the fall just in time. Charlotte attempted a Figure 8 on Alexa but was super kicked by Carmella, resulting in being out for the remainder of the match. Carmella dances for a little then we see Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville come out to distract her. They grabbed Carmella's foot then Alexa take advantage by delivering the DDT to Carmella for the win! Alexa will challenge Bayley for the Smackdown Women's Championship at Stomping Ground. Let's be honest, everyone thought Charlotte was gonna win and I'm quite happy she didn't.

Lars Sullivan arrives next as we get to officially hear him speak for the first time on the main roster! To be quite honest with y'all, I couldn't pinpoint exactly what he said because it was a bunch of scripted gibberish. Lars speaks but basically said nothing. What a waste.

Andrade Cien Almas was supposed to take on Apollo Crews but laid him out with the Hammerlock DDT before the match could even start. Finn Balor runs down to the ring and the two of them brawl as Balor gets the upper hand. This continues the buildup to their IC title match this Friday.

Lastly, we have the arrival of Goldberg! This was Goldberg's first ever appearance on Smackdown and that's just crazy to think about. Remember the buildup he had against Brock Lesnar for their match at Wrestlemania XX? Goldberg didn't even appear on Smackdown then! The big takeaway here was that there was no signature pyro for his entrance! I know WWE doesn't do pyro anymore, but c'mon now. You CAN'T have a Goldberg entrance without his signature pyro. Crowd was definitely into him here as he received the Goldberg chants with a big applause. Goldberg talks about his match against Undertaker at Super Showdown as he states that he will bring the ass kicker Goldberg to the event and that they will do battle. He then says that Undertaker is next, to rest in peace! Next thing we know, a gong hits and the lights went out. When they came back on, Undertaker was in the ring and the two went face to face! Lights go back out then another gong hits and when the lights came back on, Taker was gone. Goldberg closes this out by saying that Undertaker should get his jockstrap and tighten that bitch up, because he's gonna kick his ass this Friday! Wow!
