Rizin 10 Fukuoka Review
This has been an event which I have been looking forward to for the past month or so. Rizin is a great MMA promotion with great fighters within the roster. I made predictions for the last 6 fights as the card is too big. Since I made predictions for the 6 fights, I’ll be reviewing the 6 fights so it’s time for the review so strap in.
Issei Ishii Vs. Daishin Sakai (Kickboxing Rules; Strawweight)
Round 1: Sakai is in the white shorts while Ishii is in the gold. Ishii hitting a few leg kicks to begin the first round. They are now swinging punches at each other. This is an aggressive first round to begin win. Sakai isn’t too impressive so far and Ishii drops Sakai down. Ishii hits a nice looking head kick. That got Sakai hurt, definitely. Ishii is vicious towards the end of the round.
Thoughts: Fantastic first round for Ishii. Sakai needs to do something and do it quickly because at this point, Ishii has this fight in the bag.
Round Winner: Issei Ishii
Round 2: Ishii getting a clinch straight away. It appears that Ishii got a low kick and Sakai falls to the canvas. It’s a kick right to the groin. That looked brutal! Obviously the timer has been stopped. The fight continues. They are throwing efficient and effective punches against each other. Sakai attempts a spinning backfist which Ishii doesn’t respond to. Good ending to the round.
Thoughts: Ankther great round for Ishii. Sakai needs to do something this round. Like something big. Maybe kill the guy?
Round Winner: Issei Ishii
Round 3: It looked like their heads collided but they’re back to firing again. This fight has been so fast paced so far. Ishii throwing hands and kicks towards Sakai. He is hunting for a knockout. Sakai goes down after a headbutt? Yeah, it was an accidental headbutt which made his nose bleed. A bad round for accidental mishaps for Sakai. Ishii is throwing punch after punch.
Thoughts: A fantastic fight! What a fight that was.
Round Winner: Issei Ishii
WINNER: ISSEI ISHII (UNANIMOUS DECISION)

Daron Cruickshank Vs. Koshi Matsumoto (Lightweight)
Round 1: Not much strikes being thrown, a much slower fight when you compare it to the previous fight. Cruickshank catching Matsumoto with some nice jabs. Cruickshank gets the KO victory with a BEAUTIFUL head kick. That was something else. Get that GIF’ed ASAP.
WINNER: DARON CRUICKSHANK (KO)
WINNER: DARON CRUICKSHANK (KO)
Diego Nunes Vs. Yusuke Yachi (Lightweight)
Round 1: Yachi is in yellow trunks while Nunes is rocking the white and black. Both men attempt body kicks. None of them are damaged as of yet. Yachi almost connects with a head kick. Nunes catching Yachi with punches which throws Yachi back. Yachi counters this with a knee to the belly. Nunes looks tired. Yachi hits a nice kick towards the end of the round. Nunes unleashes with a flurry of punches to end the round.
Thoughts: Great first round for both fighters.
Round Winner: Diego Nunes
Round 2: Nunes attempting a back kick and then Nunes unleashes with punches and Yachi retaliates. Good opening. Nunes attempts a take down onto Yachi but Yachi tries his best to remain standing. Nunes is flinging his fists right towards Yachi. It looks like Yachi scores the takedown. Yachi is using Nunes’ energy. The match back up but Nunes takes Yachi down. Yachi looked like he was attempting a guillotine but doesn’t get it. I don’t even know if he was going for it, to be honest. Yachi attempts a big knee but falls back and now Nunes takes advantage of the mishap. Nunes gets in some punches.
Thoughts: Another good round!
Round Winner:Yusuke Yachi
Round 3: Nunes is trying to close in on a TKO victory but I doubt he’ll get it. This hasn’t been Yachi’s best fight. Nunes hits Yachi with a jumping knee which stuns Yachi. Nunes is attempting a ground and pounf but is only managing to get a few punches. Yachi hits a great punches at the end of the fight but I think it’s too late.
Thoughts: Great fight which went the distance.

Kanna Asakura Vs. Melissa Karagianis (Super Atom-Weight)
Round 1: Kanna is in the pink and Mellissa is in the black. Nothing much happening so far but we’re only a minute in to the fight. Asakura takes Karagianis down to the ground. Karagianis has Asakura in a hold. They’re basically out of the ring! Asakura is on top of Karagianis. Asakura is trying to make Karagianis submit but she can’t lock in the submission hold. They get back up but then they eventually go back down. It’s hard to tell who’s won this round, the Rizin judges don’t care who wins the round. They choose who wins by the whole fight and not by rounds. An odd way to do it. Asakura is throwing punches to a grounded Karagianis.
Thoughts: A good first round, most of it being spent on the ground.
Round Winner: Kanna Asakura
Round 2: Karagianis trying to start the round with punches but barely connects. Asakura goes for a takedown but gets caught in a guillotine. Asakura tries to turn the table but apparently the table is too heavy. Asakura is got Karagianis in a choke hold. She is damaged. She gets hit but Asakura goes for an armbar and locks it in. Karagianis gets out of it but barely.
Thoughts: Great round for both fighters but I think Asakura slightly gets the round.
Round Winner: Kanna Asakura
Round 3: Karagianis needs a big round to win this one. Asakura is trying to get her down to the ground and almost does it but Karagianis manages to stay standing. Asakura performs a nice judo throw to take Karagianis down which is exactly what she needed to do at this point in the fight. Asakura is looking to lock in the arm bar but Karagianis is having none of it and refuses the arm bar. They get back up but are still in a clinch, Karagianis has Asakura in a front face headlock to end the round.
Thoughts: Great last round, a great bout to watch.
Round Winner: Kanna Asakura
WINNER: Kanna Asakura (UNANIMOUS DECISION)

Tenshin Nasukawa Vs. Yusaku Nakamura (FLYWEIGHT)
Round 1: Big strikes to start the fight. Nakamura just got struck! He went for a takedown but you can’t do that as it is kickboxing rules. Round 1: Horiguchi punches McCall and KO’s him. What a fight!
That’s Rizin 10! What a show that was! Phenomenal show with phenomenal fights maybe with the exception of the mainevent but even then that was entertaining! I’ve been Josh from all Things Combat and I’ll be back soon.
