RAW Review - September 16th
Clash of Champions has come and gone, now we're on a trip to HELL! Hell in a Cell is October 6th and we got some big matches to look forward to coming up at the event. Normally, RAW and Smackdown would kick off with a bang after the conclusion of a PPV. What's that the case last night? Let's find out!
Show kicked off with an appearance by the Universal Champion Seth Rollins as he recuperates from his win over Braun Strowman the night before at Clash of Champions followed by the ambush from The Fiend Bray Wyatt. Seth talks about Wyatt for a bit as he prepares for his title match against The Fiend himself at Hell in a Cell as they step inside the cell together. During the promo, Seth's interrupted by the Firefly Funhouse as Bray Wyatt appears and says hello to Seth and his fireflies. He talks about how The Fiend had something to say to Rollins at COC, but then teases that he could reappear on RAW! He stares down Seth for a bit then laughs and leaves. Seth then stands guard as he prepares for The Fiend to attack at any moment. This will pretty much be the case going forward towards HIAC because The Fiend could attack at ANY moment. Seth better be prepared for damn sure.
RAW Tag Team Champions Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler arrived along with the Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Revival as they gloat about their victories at COC. Before they could finish their gloating, Braun Strowman suddenly arrives and takes out all of them besides Robert Roode who got out of dodge luckily.

The O.C Vs. Cedric Alexander & The Viking Raiders
Decent tag match here as the action was good but nothing too special. Erik took most of the beating on his team til he made the hot tag to Cedric. Cedric went wild on O.C., gaining some momentum along the way. Cedric battled with Karl Anderson as AJ Styles made a blind tag then as Cedric tosses Anderson out, he gets taken out himself with a Phenomenal Forearm! AJ pins him to pick up the win for his team then immediately beats down Cedric some more. Gallows and Anderson exchanged blows with Erik then suddenly we see Igor climb to the top to do a big Front Flip Dive onto everyone at ringside! AJ then attempts to hit another Phenomenal Forearm on Cedric but he stops him in time and fires rapid punches to him. He then teases to hit a Super Hurricanrana but Styles catches him and performs the Avalanche Styles Clash!
Next we see 24/7 Champion R-Truth and Carmella visit the Women's College Basketball Hall of Fame at the University of Tennessee. Truth did some comedy and Carmella lists off some history of the Women's Basketball League when they're suddenly interrupted by a very familiar face, the Mayor of Knox County Glenn Jacobs aka Kane!! Jacobs offers Truth a ride in his limousine for a tour around Knoxville, TN. Oh boy........

Baron Corbin Vs. Chad Gable (King Of The Ring; Finals)
This was a good match as expected. A little underwhelming considering that most of the Quarterfinal and Semifinal matches were great, but this match was good though. Gable came into this match as the underdog and man he sure lived up to that as he was the fan favorite to win this match. Corbin wasn't well liked of course, but he's been very impressed during this tournament and this match was no different. Corbin had Gable under his belt for half of the match but Gable started coming back slowly. Gable even applied the Ankle Lock and fans went nuts as they thought that there was a chance that Corbin would tap, to be honest I was one of those people. Corbin made it to the ropes and continued to fight, even giving Gable a great looking Deep Six for a near fall! Gable fought back for a bit until was caught in what would've looked like a Pumphandle Slam but Corbin turned it into the End of Days out of nowhere! Corbin successfully pins Gable and hereby becomes the 2019 King of the Ring!!
Next was the Gender Reveal Party for Maria Kanellis and Mike Kanellis. The Street Profits hosted the party and did what they could to make this entertaining. Maria comes in and reveals that she's having a boy! Maria looks at Mike and tells him that the TRUE father of their unborn child is not Mike, it's Ricochet. Everyone looked at Ricochet and he tried to explain to Mike that she was lying, which she was, but Mike didn't want to hear any of it and slapped Ricochet in the face. He then challenges him to a match immediately and Ricochet had no choice but to accept it. To be honest, I didn't find any of this entertaining whatsoever. Pretty pointless segment to me.

Mike Kanellis Vs. Ricochet
Poor Mike, he got his ass handed to him again. He slapped Ricochet around for a bit then Ricochet fights back and delivers the Recoil for the win. The less said, the better.
We come back from commercial break and Mike was on the ring apron when Maria comes out to bash him some more. She admits that Ricochet was obviously not the father, but then states that there was a TRUE father to their child. That man turned out to be RUSEV! Mike didn't want any of Rusev so he tries to run away but Rusev catches him with a wicked Clothesline and tosses him all over the place before their supposed match began.

Mike Kanellis Vs. Rusev
Bell rings and Rusev delivers a Running Superkick then the Accolade for the submission win. That's it. It was great to see Rusev back but man I would not have booked his return in this fashion.
Next we see R-Truth and Glenn Jacobs at the University of Tennessee Football Stadium as they conclude their tour around Knox County. He introduces Truth to a police officer that he sworn in for their conclusion but then reveals that the cop was a referee. Truth realized immediately what was about to happen next so he tries to escape but runs into the field goal pole, knocking himself down. Jacobs then pins Truth to be the new 24/7 Champion!

Rey Mysterio Vs. Cesaro
Good match, little crowd reaction. This was a straight up wrestling match that had some good action in it. Cesaro tossed Mysterio around for a bit as he does have some incredible strength after all. Mysterio gained momentum going forward and turned the tables, even attempted the 619 but gets caught for a Elevated Knee Strike. Mysterio then finally hits the 619 and goes for the Dragonrana and Cesaro catches him again, but Mysterio turns it into the Sunset Flip for the win!
Sasha Banks & Bayley Vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross
Not a very good tag match in my opinion as there was something off about it. I will say Nikki Cross looked impressive even though she did most of the work for her team. Nikki had Bayley beat with the Swinging Neckbreaker but Sasha broke it up in time. She then tags in and applies the Bank Statement to on Cross for the submission win, picking up the win for her team. Afterwards, Sasha grabs a chair as she teases hitting Cross with it until she's confronted by RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch, who has a chair of her own! They have a joust with their chairs until Bayley comes in with a chair as well as she backs her BFF Sasha. Becky was outnumbered until Charlotte Flair arrives and takes out Bayley with her chair! Sasha was stunned then gets hit by Becky and bails out! After this whole thing, Sasha was in the locker room and challenges Becky to a rematch at Hell in a Cell!
New 24/7 Champion Glenn Jacobs was see arriving at the arena earlier in the day as R-Truth was on top of his limousine perhaps the entire ride back from the UT Football Stadium. Glenn was happy to be back at RAW but immediately gets rolled up and pinned by Truth, once again becoming 24/7 Champion! Glenn gets up and grabs Truth by the neck, teasing a Chokeslam! Truth calms him down and the two walk off together in a happy ending.
RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch rebuttals against Sasha as she states that Sasha brought chairs into the mix of their rivalry. She acknowledges Sasha's challenge for HIAC, and she not only accepted the challenge but she states that she wants to do so INSIDE Hell in a Cell!

Lacey Evans Vs. Dana Brooke
Only thing to really note about this match was that Dana Brooke showed some aggression here. Other than that, it was a standard match. Lacey knocked out Dana with the Woman's Right but didn't beat her there. In order to stick it to Natayla, Lacey executes the Sharpshooter on Dana for the submission win.
Seth Rollins Vs. Robert Roode
Decent match here. Kind of lackluster for a main event but I didn't expect too much honestly. Roode brought it to Rollins but of course he wasn't gonna tame the champion. Rollins hits Roode with the Curb Stomp but Dolph Ziggler attacks him before the pinfall, ending this match in a DQ. The O.C. runs out to join the party and they all beat down Rollins. In the mix of this, KANE shows up and cleans house! He Chokeslams Roode Luke Gallows then Double Chokeslams Karl Anderson and AJ Styles! After this, the lights shuts off and suddenly, The Fiend Bray Wyatt appears from behind! Kand turns around into a Mandible Claw by Bray and he takes Kane out! After he takes out Kane, The Fiend crawls over to Rollins, who was slumped in a corner, and stares him down as he prepares to take his title from him at HIAC!
