RAW Review (6th of May)

What an episode of RAW last night huh? Vince McMahon said himself it would be a night that we would never forget right? There's just one problem; this was an episode that fans WANT to forget. Let's talk about it shall we?

Show opened with the chairman of the board himself, Vincent Kennedy McMahon! As soon as he starts talking, he's interrupted by Smackdown's Roman Reigns. Roman claims that he can appear on both show as he pleases and Vince tells him that he can't do so because he's on Smackdown. Then suddenly Daniel Bryan (Who we haven't seen since Wrestlemania) appeared and describes how much of a travesty that Roman can appear on RAW while being on Smackdown. WWE Champion Kofi Kingston shows up next and says that he too wanted to appear on RAW since he saw a tweet that Roman said he was gonna do so himself. Vince finally speaks up in excitement and stated that he came up with a "great idea". He creates this concept called the Wild Card rule in which 3 Smackdown superstars can appear on RAW and 3 RAW superstars can appear on Smackdown. Then he proceeds to call himself a genius. How the hell was this a genius idea? He might as well combine the brands since the company doesn't take the brand split seriously as it is. Drew McIntyre shows up next and by this point I was actually getting irritated because I'm waiting for some wrestling matches and yet we're witnessing more talking. Drew claims he has unfinished business with Reigns. Vince makes two matches for the night as first he announced Drew vs Reigns in a Wrestlemania rematch. Secondly, he announces another Wrestlemania rematch as Kofi and Bryan will square off for the WWE Championship. This segment wasn't over yet too. AJ Styles arrives then suddenly we go to a commercial break. After the break, AJ confronts Vince then Universal Champion Seth Rollins arrives and these two banter back and forth about what happened last week during the contract signing. The two then teases a brawl then Vince steps in and announced a tag match between them two versus a mystery team. The mystery team turned out to be Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin.

Seth Rollins & AJ Styles Vs. Baron Corbin & Bobby Lashley

This match was actually fine as mainly Rollins and Styles try to one up each other. Lashley and Corbin dominated for a bit then Rollins and Styles changed things around. AJ accidentally hits the Phenomenal Forearm on Rollins and was so disappointed, that he walked out of the match. This allowed Corbin to hit the End of Days on Rollins and picks up the win for his team.

Sami Zayn arrives and continues to bash the fans. He's so douchey here then suddenly Braun Strowman interrupts him and this begins a long chase to the back. Backstage we see Braun chase Zayn down and finally captures him as Zayn attempted to crawl under a lifting door. He carries Zayn and dumps him into a dumpster. Then a dumpster truck arrives and Braun leaves Sami inside the dumpster, causing him to be dumped inside the truck.

Lucha House Party Vs. Local Competitors

This match was a typical squash as LHP laid waste to their opponents. LHP picked up the win and celebrated afterwards.

Ricochet Vs. Robert Roode (Winner enters the Money In The Bank)

Ricochet had put his MITB Ladder Match spot on the line since Roode defeated him fair and square 2 weeks ago. I actually thought this made sense. The match itself was fine as Roode did whatever he could to earn that MITB spot. Ricochet wasn't gonna allow that to happen as he gained the upper hand and defeated Roode with the 630 Splash. Ricochet remains in the MITB Ladder Match!

Lacey Evans Vs. Local Competitor

Lacey had invited the RAW participants in the Women's MITB Ladder Match to her match to watch her supposed greatness. She defeated her opponent quickly then talks about how the women should be careful if they ever decide to cash in the MITB contract on her if she defeats Becky for the RAW Women's Championship. Becky Lynch herself arrives and the two began to brawl.

Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins Vs. The Viking Raiders

The champs did what they could but couldn't overcome the Viking War Raiders Experience. Thses guys dominated the champions and defeated Ryder by nailing him with the Viking Experience finisher. This possibly sets up a future tag titles match between the two teams.

It's time for another Firefly Funhouse! This time Bray Wyatt talks with Mercey the Buzzard. Mercey somehow ate the Rambling Rabbit and Bray was upset, while Mercey was happy with himself. Bray then goes on a picnic with a couple of kids who all looked "happy" to be there. This was another weird yet enjoyable segment and I'm interested in seeing more.

The Revival was supposed to have a match against Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson but that didn't happen as the Usos arrived and played another prank on them. They've apparently stuffed their ring gear with itching powder, causing Revival to freak out and start scratching themselves. I just don't understand how we have two of the best tag teams in WWE today feuding like this. Instead of seeing back to back action and great promos between these guys, we see goofy shit like this?

No Way Jose showed up for nothing as Lars Sullivan arrives and totally destroyed Jose and half of his conga line. Remember, Lars is a Smackdown guy right? Well now that's not the case as backstage Lars convinced Vince to add him to the Wild Card rule.

Roman Reigns Vs. Drew McIntyre

Wrestlemania rematch here as both guys gave each other a good beating. I honestly thought this match was good, but not that different from their Wrestlemania match. Roman almost had the match won until Shane McMahon arrived along with Elias and cost Reigns the match. The three guys gang up on Roman til The Miz arrives to make the save! Miz only went after Shane as he's still has a hatred for him.

Backstage, Shane tries to leave then suddenly Miz catches up to him and beats him with a chair!

Kofi Kingston (C) Vs. Daniel Bryan (WWE Championship)

This was a very good match and a nice way to close out a bad episode of RAW. Bryan had the match under control partly as he wants that championship back more than ever. Kofi of course came back and took control for a bit. These guys went back and forth for a while and this was almost as good as their Wrestlemania match! Kofi nails the Trouble in Paradise to Bryan for the win and retains his WWE Championship!

Besides the main event and a couple other matches, this episode of RAW honestly wasn't very good. Yes there was some good matches, but that doesn't necessarily equal to a good show overall. Not to mention, the Wild Card rule is a dumb idea.
