RAW Review (20th of May)

We're hours removed from Money In The Bank and fans were still outraged about the conclusion of the PPV. A new championship was revealed and the reaction to it was very interesting to say the least! Hahaha let's take a look at last night's show.

Show opened with Paul Heyman and Mr. Beast In The Bank, Brock Lesnar! Brock coming out and holding the briefcase to his head like a boombox was one of the best visuals I've ever seen. Heyman starts cutting a promo basically saying that Seth Rollins should watch his back as Brock would hunt him down for his title anytime he feels like it. Seth comes out and challenges Lesnar to cash in his briefcase that night so they can face off one on one for the Universal Championship. Heyman starts talking about cashing in on Kofi Kingston. This brings out Kofi as he challenges Lesnar to cash in that night as well. Lesnar and Heyman laughed, then they left.

Braun Strowman Vs. Sami Zayn

These two began brawling before the match even began! Sami runs away as Braun chases him to the back. They brawl back there at first then transitions all the way back to the ring. Once the bell rang, Sami was immediately taken out. Braun powerslams him and picks up the win! I hope this rivalry doesn't go too long as we'll be seeing more of this week by week. Sami arrives, Braun arrives, Sami then runs away, Braun chases him. It'll get old real soon.

Lars Sullivan was being interviewed in the ring as he was prepared to talk for the first time. Before saying anything, he's interrupted by the Lucha House Party. FSS. So of course, Lars destroyed them yet again. This too is starting to get old. Can't wait for Lars to start competing in actual matches.

Ricochet Vs. Cesaro

Cesaro debuted a new theme song here and honestly it's not too bad. Sounds generic as hell, but not too bad. The match itself I really enjoyed as it started out a little slow but picked up along the way. There was a cool spot where Ricochet leaped onto Cesaro's shoulders and did a back flip off of him. Cesaro took over Ricochet as he went after his back through the rest of the match. Cesaro hit the Neutralizer and scored the pinfall.

Roman Reigns arrives and before saying anything, he's interrupted by Shane McMahon. Shane brags about defeating Miz yet again at MITB and continues talking about being the Best in the World, but also claims that he isn't done with Roman. Roman says Shane's done with Miz, he's done with Elias. He challenges Shane to a fight and Shane teases going to the ring, but backs off. He then brings out Drew McIntyre for protection and accepts Roman's challenge for a fight. He makes it official as himself against Roman at WWE Super Showdown.

The Usos Vs. The Revival

Pretty good tag match here. What's sad is that this rivalry so far has been built on unfunny comedy. Both teams performed well and fans were into this match! There was even a This is Awesome chant involved and the fans weren't lying about that. Jey Uso I believe almost had the most won but Scott Dawson rolled him up with the tights and got the win for his team!

Next was a Moment of Bliss segment with Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross, and special guest RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch. Alexa asks Becky how does it feel to no longer be Becky Two Belts and before Becky answers, she's interrupted by Women's Tag Champs The IIconics. They brag about Becky losing the Smackdown Women's title then Lacey Evans comes out to join the party. Becky challenges them to a fight then they laughed as Becky's all alone. Nikki Cross agrees to join her then Becky forces Alexa to join the match as well. This sets up an impromptu tag match.

Becky Lynch, Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss Vs. Lacey Evans & The IIconics

Basic tag match as the heels took over for half of the match. Alexa Bliss did not get involved at all as she was outside the ring the whole time. I'm guessing she's still not medically cleared to compete so they needed something for her to do here. Becky gained control the last few minutes of the match and as she's working over Billie Kay, Lacey Evans leaps off the apron and walks off, abandoning her tag partners. Becky goes up the top rope and does a diving leg drop onto Billie Kay and picks up the win for her team!

Mick Foley arrives next as he prepares to unveil a new championship belt. This title is to be defended 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To be defended on RAW, Smackdown, 205 Live, NXT, even NXT UK. The title can be defended anywhere, anytime. Sounds familiar right? Fans all day were predicting that WWE was gonna bring back the Hardcore Championship, but at least they were half right. Mick Foley unveiled the new title called the WWE 24/7 Championship. Once this belt was revealed, you can literally hear crickets in the arena. No one cared about this at all. The belt looks like a damn toy as it features a basic main plate and side plates with a green strap. The title is being defended in Hardcore style rules as it's 24/7 so I do like the concept, but I just hope this will turn out to be entertaining. After unveiling the title, Mick then announces a scramble match will be taken place as he left the title in the middle of the ring and the first wrestler to grab it would become the first 24/7 Champion!

Scramble match (24/7 Championship)

This match featured the likes of Titus O'Neil, EC3, No Way Jose, Mojo Rawley, Eric Young, Cedric Alexander, The Good Brothers, etc. Each guy continuously trampled each other in order to get to the belt. Titus grabbed it at the end, becoming the first 24/7 Champion! As he was celebrating on the stage, Robert Roode showed up and rolled him up from behind and got the pin! Robert Roode becomes the 2nd 24/7 Champion of the night.

The Miz Vs. Drew McIntyre

Fine match as Miz and McIntyre went back to back with each other and Shane was ringside for it all. Throughout the match Shane kept trying to distract Miz, causing Drew to get the upper hand. Miz fought back and at one point started chasing Shane. He grabbed Shane then Drew attacked him from behind and delivered the Claymore Kick, picking up the win. Afterwards, Shane and Drew continued to attack Miz until Roman Reigns came out to make the save.

Robert Roode continued to run away from opponents as he was still the 24/7 Champion. He went out to the parking lot where for some reason R-Truth was there with a vehicle and decided to hide Roode in the trunk. Truth lies to the wrestlers and sends them the opposite way, then offers Roode a ride. Roode opens the passenger door to see a referee sitting there and this distracted him enough to get pinned by Truth! Truth becomes the third 24/7 Champion and leaves the show unfazed!

Seth Rollins & Kofi Kingston Vs. Bobby Lashley & Baron Corbin

This became a No DQ match beforehand and thankfully it did because it made the match a little more enjoyable. This match was good as fans were hyped to see a little bit of weapons involved. Corbin had Kofi beat until Kofi reversed the End of Days to nail a Trouble in Paradise for the win for his team! Lashley immediately spears Kofi and Seth once the match was over and laid the two out. As they were recovering, Brock Lesnar appeared then circled the ring before hoping on the apron to tease a cash in, only to hop off and walk away. Rollins and Kingston stand tall at the end as the show fades to black.

The WWE 24/7 Championship has been introduced and so far I find it entertaining. Hopefully WWE can make this good for the foreseeable future or else the title will be a complete waste. With Super Showdown on the way, who knows how many more matches will be added? We'll find out in the remaining weeks before the Network Special.
