Predicting Every Female Entrant In The Royal Rumble 2020

Written by Josh McCrohon

I really enjoy the women’s royal rumble - in fact, I think I’ve enjoyed it more than the men’s in recent years but it was just something that had to happen. I remember times when people wanted one and the most common idea about it was, 20 entrants which would’ve been fine but when WWE introduced the women’s royal rumble, they wanted it just like the men’s; 30 entrants. Now, a few years ago 30 entrants were hard to fill and WWE had to phone every female wrestler to fill the spots but now, it’s a lot easier due to NXT and NXT UK. I’m Josh from AllThingsCombat.com and I will be predicting all the women entrants into the 2020 Royal Rumble.

1) Natalya

Honestly, I don’t know who’s going to kick off the Royal Rumble match so I gave the spot to reliable Natalya. Natalya began last year’s match at the number two entrant so this year I gave her the number one entrant just for a little change. As for her involvement in the match, I would make her last a while with maybe a single elimination. You don’t want Natalya dumping like 16 bodies out of the ring but only like one or two. She could maybe get to the final five but no further than that.

Eliminated By: Asuka

2) Lacey Evans

My reasoning for Lacey Evans entering second is because her and Natalya began the 2019 Royal Rumble so I thought it would be good to have them begin this year’s match too. These two have done so much together including being the first two female wrestlers to have a match in Saudi Arabia - a huge accomplishment. Lacey Evans eliminated both of the IIconics which seems about right. She shouldn’t get too many eliminations, she lasted just under thirty minutes however this year I think she should last about six.

Eliminated By: Rhea Ripley
Picture

3) Candice LeRae

Candice LeRae was in the Royal Rumble last year and it got a decent reaction from the crowd. The reaction is only going to be better this year as LeRae was on the Wrestlemania card, she was heavily featured on NXT and even got a title match and she competed in the first women’s war games match. LeRae is a fantastic wrestler and I want her to enter early so she has time to shine. I want her to be kinda like the iron woman, she should last a while and pick up a good few eliminations, she should have a really good performance and a highlight of the 2020 Royal Rumble.

Eliminated By: Lita

4) Dana Brooke

Next we have somebody who’s been in every women’s royal rumble and that’s Dana Brooke. I’d have Brooke enter early on as she can work together with her tag team partner, Lacey Evans. However, she wouldn’t last long in the match as I’d have dumped out quickly and she would last about four minutes or something.

5) Shayna Baszler

Despite not being announced for the match, it’s almost a guarantee that former NXT Women’s Champion, Shayna Baszler will be in the match. If she isn’t then I don’t understand the reasoning. Baszler - in my opinion is fantastic but I know many people don’t agree with that as she’s often labelled ‘boring’ however I disagree. I think Baszler is very good and I hope we see how good she is in this rumble. If the queen of spades is in the match, I hope she gets to the final four.

Eliminated By: Charlotte Flair & Toni Storm
Picture

6) Nikki Cross

A very good wrestler in Nikki Cross enters the match next and she isn’t new to the match either as she entered last year. She didn’t get any eliminations nevertheless she still put on an entertaining showing. If I’m being honest, I don’t think she should get any eliminations either but I’d definitely have her get some near eliminations and I think she should last longer in the match like until Alexa Bliss gets there.

Eliminated By: Rhea Ripley
Picture

7) Tamina

Tamina enters next and despite being a little irrelevant- she has potential to be a powerhouse. I would love a women’s stable and her being the body guard. That should be an idea WWE heavily consider because that is brilliant. Anyway, I do actually think Tamina should get a couple of eliminations to cement herself as a future powerhouse. Yet, I wouldn’t have her winning as Tamina winning the Royal Rumble is a little bit strange I think. Don’t you agree?

Eliminated By: Natalya
Picture

8) Peyton Royce

One half of the IIconics are up next and it’s Petyon Royce. Royce is very talented but in my opinion, she works better with Billie Kay so maybe the royal rumble match isn’t the best of options for a team like the IIconics. If Royce does get an elimination then I think it should be with Billie Kay helping her as Peyton Royce eliminating somebody would just damage them rather than helping Royce.

Eliminated By: Shayna Baszler
Picture

9) Sarah Logan

Sarah Logan does not get enough credit and that’s a shame. However, it is what it is. Logan has been in both of the women rumbles yet she hasn’t ever had an elimination. Should she get one this year? Perhaps. Will I be predicting she gets one? Yeah, why not? Logan is very strong and I believe she can definitely do great things inside the ring.

Eliminated By: Shanya Baszler
Picture

10) Lita

I wouldn’t be shocked if Lita was in the Royal Rumble. Lita has proven that she still has the in-ring ability and could probably wrestle on a weekly basis as shown in the lead up of Evolution and a little bit after that. Lita could do some cool stuff in the match and face off with the stars of today. I would quite like to see Lita in the match.

Eliminated By: Io Shirai
Picture

11) Billie Kay

Now it’s time for the other half of the IIconics, Billie Kay. If Royce is still in the match then Billie Kay can help her out but we’re still at the point in the match where nobody who can actually win the match has entered minus Baszler.

Eliminated By: Shayna Baszler
Picture

12) Michelle McCool

People in the rumble should be worried as up next it’s the woman with most eliminations in the short history of the women’s royal rumble; Michelle McCool. McCool dominated the 2018 rumble with eliminations over Sonya Deville, Liv Morgan, Molly Holly, Lana and Vickie Guerrero - however to Vickie’s credit, it took three other women to take her out. McCool is fantastic and a part of me is sad that she missed out on the women’s era as she competed in the diva’s era. Though the argument can be made that she helped create the women’s era. I think it’d be cool if McCool got a few eliminations but I don’t think she should break her own record.

Eliminated By: Io Shirai
Picture

13) Mickie James

I wouldn’t have Mickie James winning this match as she has to pass the torch. What I would have however is a decent showing for her as she does deserve that. James can get one, two maybe three eliminations? But I wouldn’t go further than that.

Eliminated By: Naomi
Picture

14) Renee Young

Funny. I think Renee Young in the match would be a good moment. Don’t get me wrong, it wouldn’t be ‘rolling on the floor laughing about to wet myself while absolutely in tears about how funny it is’ however it would get a slight chuckle. Renee Young being in the match would be a nice surprise and I do believe she has actually got training in wrestling so maybe, just maybe we can see an elimination.

Eliminated By: Rhea Ripley
Picture

15) Rhea Ripley

We’re officially halfway through the royal rumble and who better to be in it than the NXT Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley. Ripley is one of the best women wrestlers WWE has to offer and she’s got a tough task ahead of her the night before as she defends her belt against Toni Storm. Win or lose, I think we’ll see her in the match.

Eliminated By: Nia Jax & Ronda Rousey
Picture

16) Kairi Sane

I really like Kairi Sane, how could you not? Her elbow drop is so soothing and it’s an elbow drop I watch every night before I head to sleep. It ends my night in a good way. Kairi Sane is a former NXT Women’s champion and former women’s tag team champion with Asuka. Sane is a future star in my opinion at the young age of 31 and I think she will definitely pick up singles gold on the main roster sometime in the near future.

Eliminated By: Alexa Bliss
Picture

17) Maryse

Former Divas champion, Maryse hasn’t participated in a women’s royal rumble yet and I definitely see her entering this year’s rumble. Maryse is an exciting return and I think it’ll be a nice surprise to see her back in the ring. She’s not wrestled since Wrestlemania 33 where she teamed with The Miz against then-couple, John Cena and Nikki Bella.

Eliminated By: Michelle McCool
Picture

18) Io Shirai

This spot was originally reserved for Shotzi Blackheart - somebody who definitely can be in the rumble but I decided against it for some reason. I think Shirai will be in the match despite being in it last year but I think WWE is high up on Shirai as she’s a young star and somebody that can definitely help them expand into a Japanese market and somebody they can put a brand around - I don’t know, maybe something like ‘NXT Japan’ perhaps? For this to work, I think we need Shirai to eliminate somebody big and that’s why I’d make her eliminate Lita and Michelle McCool - these are big names and by having them all eliminated by Shirai, this would give her great publicity.

Eliminated By: Shanya Baszler
Picture

19) Liv Morgan

Liv Morgan is the centre of this rivalry between Lashley and Rusev. Now, I can’t say if that’s a positive or negative for Liv Morgan but I definitely think WWE see it as a positive as I think they actually believe this is good? I can’t see why, it’s been absolutely stinky from day one but I’m not Vince! Truth be told, I wouldn’t have Morgan eliminate anybody, she could be another name that Shirai throws out if I’m being honest.

Eliminated By: Io Shirai
Picture

20) Beth Phoenix

If Edge is going to be in the Royal Rumble then Beth Phoenix is going to be in the women’s royal rumble. Why not? She was in a previous royal rumble and she was even in the men’s royal rumble a few years ago also. I would like to see the glamazon in the 2020 royal rumble match as it’d be entertaining to see her mix it up with the NXT stars - the show she commentates.

Eliminated By: Rhea Ripley
Picture

21) Asuka

The 2018 Royal Rumble winner Asuka is back in the match and I don’t think she’ll win but I do think she has great potential. Asuka’s undefeated streak a few years ago was something special as she dominated everybody but it ended too easily I think. I kinda want to see another streak. Anyway, I’m losing my train of thought, Asuka should have a decent match but I can’t imagine her winning.

Eliminated By: Charlotte Flair
Picture

22) Carmella

Last year, Carmella was number 30 in the rumble but this year I would have her enter number 23. Carmella is another wrestler I wouldn’t have any eliminations. There’s not really a reason for this but there’s a lot of eliminations in this match and there’s simply no reason to give Carmella an elimination.

Eliminated By: Shayna Baszler
Picture

23) Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss is one of the few women that’s actually confirmed for the match so I have to involve her into the match. I wouldn’t mind seeing Bliss get an elimination but I wouldn’t go too far with her eliminations. She got two last year and that’s the correct amount for Bliss I believe.

Eliminated By: Nia Jax
Picture

24) Naomi

We’ve not seen Naomi in the ring since last summer and I believe this Sunday is the perfect time for a Naomi return. She’s been in both Rumbles and only has one elimination which was Mandy Rose. This year I think she should get a couple to cement her return to the ring. I think she should have a strong return and dominate the match. However, I think she should still get eliminated by somebody bigger than her.

Eliminated By: Ronda Rousey
Picture

25) Charlotte Flair

Did somebody say final four? Charlotte Flair can definitely win the match and part of me thinks she will. Charlotte is a fantastic wrestler and somebody that I think will win but just because I have another prediction in mind, I’m going to have Charlotte in the final two.

Eliminated By: Ronda Rousey
Picture

26) Mandy Rose

Mandy Rose - I didn’t know where to put her so she’s in towards the end. There’s always somebody that isn’t at main event level in towards the end and when you watch it, you’re like ‘ah, that’s disappointing’. Mandy Rose is that entrant. I don’t think Rose should get any eliminations either.

Eliminated By: Nia Jax
Picture

27) Nia Jax

This is a major guess. I don’t know how close Nia Jax is to returning but I think this is the time we see her returning. I hope we see Nia return in this match as it would be a surprising return.

Eliminated By: Charlotte Flair & Ronda Rousey
Picture

28) Sonya Deville

Sonya Deville is a great singles wrestler and I do think she’s got a bright future in the WWE. My reasoning for having Deville this late in the match is for the sole purpose of squaring off with the number 30 Entrant which probably isn’t a surprise but I’m not going to say her name just for the mystery - though, you probably know who it is if you’ve read the ‘eliminated by’ part at the bottom of the entrants. I just want to see Deville face off with this person.

Eliminated By: Ronda Rousey
Picture

29) Toni Storm

Former NXT UK women’s champion, Toni Storm would also be in the royal rumble. I would have her in the 29 spot as there’ll be a lot of eyes on this. Toni Storm is 24 and she has a LOT of potential and I want people to see just how talented Storm is. Storm could even get an elimination or two but ultimately she would get put out

Eliminated By: Charlotte Flair
Picture

30) Ronda Rousey

There’s been a lot of rumours regarding Ronda Rousey’s return to WWE and I think it’s going to happen tomorrow night. Rousey is a huge main stream star and a match against Becky Lynch is still massive! I really think Ronda Rousey will get the win and go onto fight Lynch at Wrestlemania. I expect her to get a few eliminations and she’ll have to eliminate big names to get the win.
