ONE Championship: Fire & Fury Predictions

Headlined by a Strawweight title in Manila, ONE Championship: Fire & Fury is going to be a great card. There’s a lot of great bouts to be excited about and there’s fantastic fighters which include Joshua Pacio, Danny Kingad, Eduard Folayang and Pieter Buist. The card is taking place from the Mall of Asia arena which can fit in roughly 15,000 people. It will definitely be a great card and I’ve taken a shot at predicting the card! In the previous ONE event, I went 4-1 and I will try and continue this impressive streak by going 9-1 after this event, fingers crossed!

Shoko Sato Vs. Kwon Won Il (Bantamweight)

Shoko Sato (34-16-3) is coming into this fight with more experience over Kwon Won Il who has a record of (10-2). Won Il has had five bouts in the promotion with 3 of those fights being wins - but more importantly, first round knockouts. Won Il is only 24 and his future is looking bright. However, across from him is Shoko Sato - a man who’s had over 50 MMA fights, this will be a tough fight for both men however I’m going to predict a Kwon Won Il victory by another first round stoppage.

Prediction: Kwon Won Il (1; TKO)

Petchdam Petchyindee Academy Vs. Momotaro (Muay Thai; Flyweight)

I’m expecting this to be excellent. The last time we saw Petchdam Petchyindee Academy fight in ONE Championship was against Ilias Ennahachi - who is now the flyweight kickboxing champion. This is a tough fight to predict but I’m going to give the edge to Momotaro - the WBC international Muay Thai champion. He has a big belt in the sport and I’m going to say he wins by a stoppage in the second round.

Prediction: Momotaro (2; TKO)

Danny Kingad Vs. Xie Wei (Flyweight)

After losing his first two fights, Xie Wei came back and hasn’t lost a fight since. In my opinion, this is got great potential to be fight of the night. It’s also a hard fight to predict due to Xie Wei’s insane knockout power and Kingad’s fighting ability. Danny Kingad is a fantastic fighter and one of the best flyweights on the planet. It’s a very close fight on paper but I think I’m going to give my prediction to Danny Kingad. Xie Wei is an amazing fighter however this is a massive leap in competition and I think it’s too far of a leap but I’ll happily be proven wrong.

Prediction: Danny Kingad (Decision)

Eduard Folayang Vs. Pieter Buist (Lightweight)

Pieter Buist is replacing Ahmed Mujtaba in this bout and I think this only increases the hype of this fight as Buist has took this fight on late notice which gives him a disadvantage but he’s a brilliant fighter and he’s a man who can really test Folayang. Eduard Folayang is incredibly active, going 1-2 in 2019 with his last fight being a win over Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu by technical decision. I’m predicting Pieter Buist wins this one but I’m going to predict a decision win for the man from Netherlands.

Prediction: Pieter Buist (Decision)

Joshua Pacio (C) Vs. Alex Silva (ONE Strawweight World Championship)

ONE Strawweight Champion, Joshua Pacio is only 24 years old which is insane as his opponent, Alex Silva is 37! That’s a 13 year age gap between these two! Pacio is so highly skilled but we have seen him lose before. Silva went through a rough patch in 2018-2019 when he lost three consecutive decisions. However, two arm bar wins later and he’s fighting for the title. My honest prediction for this is Pacio to retain by TKO in the fourth round. If not, fourth round then the fifth round.

Prediction: Joshua Pacio (4; TKO)
