ONE Championship: Dawn Of Heroes Predictions

Picture
It’s about time that we do articles on ONE Championship, the ever-growing MMA organisation is rising at a rapid speed and that’s mainly because how exposed the product is. You can download the app and watch their events for free and watch all of their previous events for free also! What’s not to love? They have a great roster of fighters and that’s only going to get better from this day forward. Now, I have to admit that this is my first ONE event, however I do have a strong knowledge of MMA so my plan is to watch at least one of everybody’s fight on this card before I make my predictions and I’m just letting you know that I have so let’s get into this!

Rodlek Vs. Andrew Miller

I saw Rodlek’s work against Liam Harrison and was I impressed? Absolutely. The fight was great and Rodlek picked up the win. He can take damage just as easily he can dish it out. He wasn’t afraid to take damage and I really enjoyed his style. He takes on Andrew Miller, a Scottish Muay-Thai fighter and I watched his fight against Mohammmed Bin Mahmoud and I saw a lot of good stuff from both fighters. I was impressived with Miller but I’m going with a Rodlek victory here. I think Rodlek will beat Andrew Miller by decision but it’ll be a tough one.

Prediction: Rodlek (Unanimous Decision)

Danny Kingad Vs. Reece McLaren (Flyweight World Grand Prix Semi-Final)

The winner of this will fight the winner of the next fight between Demetrious Johnson and Tatsumitsu Wada. Kingad I think will pressure McLaren and look to wrestle him. Reece McLaren is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and I think McLaren could submit Kingad however I do think Danny Kingad will win and it’ll go the distance.

Prediction: Danny Kingad (Decision)

Demetrious Johnson Vs. Tatsumitsu Wada (Flyweight World Grand Prix Semi-Final)

Now, this is an interesting one. You’ve got one of the greatest flyweights of all time, Demetrious Johnson fighting Japan’s own, Tatsumitsu Wada. I’m going to go with a Johnson submission win and I see it being an arm bar in the third.

Prediction: Demetrious Johnson (Round 3; Submission)

Eduard Folayang Vs. Eddie Alvarez (Lightweight World Grand Prix Semi-Final)

We saw Eddie Alvarez’s debut in ONE championship earlier this year and how that went south for the underground king. Folayang is so unpredictable with his spinning backfists and has great awareness. I honestly think Eddie will struggle here and that’s why I’m going with an Eduard Folayang victory by decision.

Prediction: Eduard Folayang (Decision)

Cameron’s Pick: I think Eddie Alvarez will win in the second round by TKO. I think Alvarez will use his boxing ability to outstrike Eduard Folayang and have a big win in the second to advance to the finals of the ONE championship Lightweight Grand Prix.

Prediction: Eddie Alvarez (Round 2; TKO)

Jonathan Haggerty (C) Vs. Rodtang Jitmuangnon (Flyweight Muay Thai Championship)

This is a hard fight to predict. Haggerty is a very young champion and his opponent has a lot more experience but that was the case last time against Sam-A so I suppose that doesn’t mean much. Rodtang has over 250 Wins in Muay-Thai so that’s something to look out for but like I previously mentioned, this doesn’t affect Haggerty. I think Haggerty will stop Rodtang and I think it’ll happen in the forth round.

Prediction: Jonathan Haggerty (Round 4; TKO)
Picture

Martin Nguyen (C) Vs. Koyomi Matsushima (Featherweight Championship)

I think this will be a really fun fight. It’s a good 5 round main event and both men are fantastic fighters but I think I’m going to go with Nguyen retaining here. Matsushima is great but I think Nguyen will have the upper hand and I think Nguyen will stop this in the third.

Prediction: Martin Nguyen (Round 3; TKO)
