NJPW Dominion 6.9 Review
Welcome to Dominion, it is currently 7:53am and I can’t wait to see how this show turns out! There’s a lot of hype surrounding this event so let’s not wait any further any kick the show off.
Suzuki Gun (c) Vs. Roppongi 3K (IWGP Junior Tag Team Championships)
Suzuki Gun tried to attack them before the match but Roppongi hits back and they both dive over the top rope onto the champions. El Desperado stops a springboard from happening. The match continues from there and it’s quite good. Yoh makes a hot tag to Sho and he beats both of Suzuki Gun. He hits a great looking German Suplex combination. The referee gets knocked down and Kanemaru accidentally sprays mist into El Desperado. Suzuki Gun retain their titles due to their dirty antics. Those cheeky boys!

Taguchi Japan (David Finlay, JUICE Robinson) Vs. CHAOS (Yoshi-Hashi & Jay White)
The match is quite good and it feels like there’s something on the line which is weird because literally NOTHING is on the line. JUICE gets a good reaction throughout the match, mainly because he is Juice Robinson. He hits a good cannonball onto both members of CHAOS. Robinson picks up the win when he pins the IWGP United States Champion, Jay White.

Suzuki Gun (Minoru Suzuki & Zack Sabre Jr.) Vs. CHAOS (Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano)
Suzuki and Ishii start the match. The immediately start off with stiff forearms because it’s Suzuki and Ishii. This is like a fight between two dads. Sabre gets tagged in and he shows off his technical ability. It isn’t long until Suzuki gets back in and they resume their game of “who can knock each other’s head off first”. They end up both falling down - presumably dead. Sabre picks up the win making Ishii tap out. But after the match, Ishii and Suzuki brawl. Jeezo. Can’t they just leave each other alone?

Thoughts So Far: Good Show so far, sick of Tag Team matches I think.

Hirooki Goto (c) Vs. Taichi Vs. Michael Elgin (NEVER Openweight Championship)
The match is good, triple threat matches are a really rare sight to see in NJPW. Elgin who is the big man hits a big dive which impressed me. Taichi gets a really big near fall but Elgin pins Taichi for the belt.

Evil & Sanada (c) Vs. The Young Bucks (IWGP Tag Team Championships)
Sanada starts the match with Nick Jackson. The match is very high pace and is a standard Young Bucks match but with a higher intensity. It’s a great match with The Young Bucjs coming out on top.

Bullet Club (Cody, Marty Scurll & Adam Page) Vs. Juyshin Thunder Liger, Rey Mysterio & Hiroshi Tanahasi)
The match was decent with everybody getting their bit in. Bullet Club pick up the win however which surprised me.

Thoughts So Far: Glad the multiman matches are over.

Will Osperay (c) Vs. Hiromu Takahasi (IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship)
The match immediately start with Osperay getting a knee strike. He dives off the stage and takes Takahasi out. Takahasi hits a mid air German suplex which is crazy! Mental stuff goes on and I can tell Jim Cornette is loving this! Takahasi gets a grounded submission which I guess looks like a triangle hold but Osperay lifts him up and flips him around which was great. Takahasi wins after an incredible sequence.

Tetsuya Naito (c) Vs. Chris Jericho (IWGP Intercontinental Championship)
Jericho attacks Naito before the match and he already looks tired. He powerbombs Naito through the table. I don’t think the match will begin. He hits a massive DDT on the table. The match finally begins. Jericho hits a lionsault for a 2 count. Naito piledrivers Jericho on a table! There goes Fozzy’s vocals! Jericho locks in the walls of Jericho which lasts like an hour but Naito just reaches the ropes. Jericho was in trouble so he pushes the referee, low blows Naito and codebreakers for the win.
After the match, Jericho attacks Naito with a belt but Evil makes the save which is weird but it makes sense as he’s also a part of LIJ. I don’t know if I want to see a Evil verses Jericho feud.

Kazuchika Okada (c) Vs. Kenny Omega (2 Out Of 3 Falls; IWGP Heavyweight Championship)
The match starts off slow. The match quickens with a lot of reversals. Okada jumps over the barricade to dive onto Omega but Omega hits a mid air V-trigger but he’s injured himself. Omega dives off the top rope over the barricade and frog splashes onto Okada. Later in the match, Okada hits a tombstone to Omega on the apron. Omega goes for a roll up but it’s Okada who gets the roll up for the first fall. Ibushi coaches Omega and we’re off. Omega tries to German suplex Okada through a table from the apron which gives me flashbacks. He doesn’t get it and goes for a one winged angel instead but then Okada goes for the rainmaker and Omega settles with an inverted Frankensteiner. Okada gets back in at the count of 19 and gets V-triggered but he tombstones Omega. Omega gets his first fall with a one winged angel. I have a feeling Ibushi is going to throw the towel in but Omega will catch it and throw it out. Omega goes for the Phoenix splash but Okada moves out of the way. Okada goes for a rainmaker but I think he ran out of energy. Okada hits 2 rainmakers, he goes for a third but Omega German suplexes Okada. Omega hits the one winged angel out of nowhere! Like literally. It’s not long until Omega hits another one and wins the IWGP Heavyweight Championship!
After the match, Kenny Omega cuts a promo with the first part being in Japanese and the second part being in English. Cody comes out but walks back.

Overall Thoughts Of The Show: Great Show with more than enough title changes to keep me entertained. Bad night for CHAOS, good night for Suzuki Gun and a fantastic night for the Bullet Club! I’ve been Josh from AllThingsCombat.com and this has been my review for NJPW Dominion 2018!
