Money In The Bank 2019 Review

Interesting show to say the least! With the traditional MITB Ladder Matches held here, fans for weeks have been speculating who will win or deserves to win for both matches. Let's just say, the fans had an interesting night here if you would ask them. Not the best show last night, but there was some good things that came from it. Let's get to the review!

Pre-show: The Usos Vs. Daniel Bryan & Rowan

This match was fine as both teams put up a fight against each other. The outcome of this match surprised me though as The Usos defeated Bryan and Rowan!

Womens Money In The Bank

Great way to start off the PPV here as these women tore the house down! As expected, we've seen high spots and really cool moments in this match. At one point, Carmella suffered a knee injury after a mistimed spot with Mandy Rose as she was taken to backstage afterwards. The spot of the match was when Ember Moon climbed up a ladder that was propped up outside of the ring and hits a perfect Eclipse into the ring on Natayla! Carmella came back out and was able to finish the match. She then climbed the ladder till Sonya Deville interfered and pushed her off. She grabs Mandy and starts climbing the ladder with her. As Mandy was prepared to unhook the briefcase, Bayley comes out of nowhere and knocks both women off the ladder! She then unhooks the briefcase, winning the match! Bayley is now Mrs. Money In The Bank!

Samoa Joe (c) Vs. Rey Mysterio (United States Championship)

Match was good but was short as well. Joe was on the mat as Rey covered him and got the shock win! Rey Mysterio is the new United States Champion! There was one problem, the replay was shown as we saw Joe's left shoulder was clearly up. This will probably result in another match between the two but this time it makes sense since Joe had his left shoulder up.

The Miz Vs. Shane McMahon (Steel Cage)

Good cage match here as Miz had vengeance on his mind and that really showed in this match. Shane mostly tried to run away the whole time but was stopped by Miz each time. The conclusion was when both guys were on top of the cage but Shane was on the outside of it. Miz held Shane for a minute till Shane decided to slip through his shirt and fall to the ground, picking up the win!

Tony Nese (c) Vs. Ariya Daivari (Cruiserweight Championship)

Basic match here as it was fine but kind of expected more. Ariya had a couple of attempts to win the title here but Nese did what he could to stop him. Tony Nese hits the running knee in the corner to Daivari and scores the pin, retaining his championship and continuing to prove that he's a fighting champion!

Becky Lynch (c) Vs. Lacey Evans (RAW Womens Championship)

I honestly thought this match wasn't that special as it was very basic. Lacey looked dominant for a little, but Becky turned the tables and fought back. Lacey attempted to roll up Becky for the win and for some reason the referee didn't count at all. Becky turned it over into the Dis-Arm-Her and Lacey tapped! Becky retained the RAW Women's Championship.

Becky Lynch (c) Vs. Charlotte Flair (Smackdown Women’s Championship)

This match started immediately after the RAW Women's title match as Charlotte made her way to the ring and Becky wasn't able to rest. Charlotte took control for half of the match but this became a back and forth match quickly. Lacey Evans got involved in the match and this distracted Becky enough for Charlotte to hit the big boot and pin Becky! Charlotte wins the Smackdown Women's Championship.......for the time being.

Afterwards, Lacey and Charlotte continue to beat up Becky until Bayley comes out to make the save! She takes out both Evans and Charlotte as fans were going nuts the whole time. As Charlotte was down and out, Bayley constantly kept looking at her briefcase as she was heavily contemplating on whether or not to cash in. Finally she made the decision to do so and after a big elbow drop, Bayley wins the Smackdown Women's Championship!

Roman Reigns Vs. Elias

Before the matchup, Elias struck Roman in the back with a guitar backstage. He finally shows up and does a performance with an electric guitar! As he was leaving, Roman Reigns comes out and nails him was a Superman Punch. He then throws Elias back in the ring and the match officially begins, only for Roman to spear Elias and win the match almost instantly!
Picture

Seth Rollins (c) Vs. AJ Styles (Universal Championship)

As expected, this was a really good match! Both guys put on a good performance like they always have. The spot of the match was when Rollins went for the Curb Stomp and AJ countered it into a Styles Clash for the near fall! AJ continued to work or Rollins then suddenly Rollins finally hits the Curb Stomp and pins AJ! Seth Rollins retained the Universal Championship. I honestly hope this isn't the end of their rivalry as this is too good of a rivalry to be a one and done type of deal.

The Lucha House Party came out for a 6 Man Tag match, but they were immediately destroyed by the freak, Lars Sullivan!
Picture

Kofi Kingston (c) Vs. Kevin Owens (WWE Championship)

Good match as KO looked to dethrone Kofi's title reign. These two put up a fight against one another. Owens brought a little more fight to Kofi as he took control for half of the match. Kofi brought the fight back, gaining momentum along the way. KO attempted a Senton Bomb but Kofi blocked it and nails him with the Trouble in Paradise for the win! Kofi Kingston retained the WWE Championship.

Men’s Money In The Bank

Sami Zayn was out of this match as he was found unconscious, hanging upside down backstage earlier in the night. This match was ended up being a 7 man match and it was good. In my opinion, this wasn't as good as the Women's MITB match, but it was still fine for what it was. Spot of the match was when Andrade and Balor were both on the ladder while there was a ladder propped vertically under Balor. Andrade ends up doing a sunset flip on Balor down to the ladder! What's crazy about it was how Finn bounced off the ladder after the move! Later on, Drew McIntyre had the match won then suddenly out of nowhere, BROCK LESNAR appears! Brock Lesnar ended up being Sami Zayn's replacement and took over the remaining of the match. Brock climbed the ladder and grabbed the briefcase, becoming Mr. Money In The Bank! Oh joy.......

Another PPV in the books! Highs and lows were displayed during this show, but overall this show was good. Not great, but a very solid to good show. With the two MITB briefcase holders crowned, one of them went on to greatness! The other one, has definitely pissed off the fans for sure.

Show Rating: 7.2/10
