Money In The Bank 2018 Review

Picture
Money, money, money, money, money, money. Boy, that song sure doesn’t get old. Anyway Money In The Bank happened but was it better than Takeover: Chicago? Let’s find out.

Daniel Bryan Vs. Big Cass

The opening match was between Daniel Bryan and Big Cass. Admittedly, I wasn’t looking forward to this match as I’m not the biggest Big Cass fan but the match was decent.

Bryan won with the heel hook. This was fine.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

Star Rating: 2.75

Bobby Lashley Vs. Sami Zayn

Up next was Bobby Lashley fighting Sami Zayn which was another match I wasn’t looking forward to. This definitely happened.

It was slow, it wasn’t fun and I don’t want to see Lashley which is a shame considering how good he was in Impact. It’s a shame.

Winner: Bobby Lashley

Star Rating: 2.5

Seth Rollins (c) Vs. Elias (Intercontinental Championship)

Elias would then challenge for the Intercontinental championship against Seth Rollins. The match starts off quite technical but then switches to strikes. The match was good.

Rollins was selling multiple injuries throughout the match which made Elias look really strong which is good to see.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Star Rating: 3.5

Women’s Money In The Bank

There’s a lot happening within the first five minutes which is a refreshing sight to see. Natalya and Lana fight over the small ladder, Naomi even wants a slice of the small ladder - she ends up getting smacked down on the ladder in a very uncomfortable position.

Naomi gets heavily featured in the match quite a lot. Lynch almost gets the briefcase but Bliss & Banks (Sasha; not Travis) stops her. Lana gets a bigger ladder and sets it up.

Lana locks in the accolade to Bliss. She climbs the ladder but Naomi springboards onto the ladder. She almost unhooks it but Lynch stops her, Lynch almost gets it but Charlotte stops her and then Bliss tips the ladder. Everybody stops each other and we’re back to Lana climbing it. Natalya teases to climb it but Moon stops her then Charlotte practically kills Moon? Lynch actually unhooks the briefcase but Bliss topples the ladder and Bliss is now Mrs Money In The Bank.

Winner: Alexa Bliss

Star Rating: 4

Note: Bliss is a good Winner but I would’ve enjoyed her out of the title scene and have a little non-title feud with Moon but she can still have it.

Roman Reigns Vs. Jinder Mahal

Jinder Mahal would then fight Roman Reigns. Yes! This wasn’t anything special.

Not much going on. The crowd chanted a lot of things throughout the match.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Star Rating: 2.25

Carmella (c) Vs. Asuka (Smackdown Women’s Championship)

So now it’s time for Carmella to defend her Women’s championship against Asuka which should be a decent match-up.

The match is alright but the intrigue comes when a person dressed up as Asuka gets on the apron and they turn out to be none other than James Ellsworth. This ends up costing Asuka the match.

Winner: Carmella

Star Rating: 2.25

AJ Styles (c) Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (Last Man Standing; WWE Championship)

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura have another match which I have expectations for. Styles defends his belt for like the 6th time? This is a last man standing match.

There’s some good moments in this match but Styles wins after a phenomenal forearm through the announce table.

Winner: AJ Styles

Star Rating: 3.75

Picture

Nia Jax (c) Vs. Ronda Rousey (RAW Women’s Championship)

This match is good with Rousey really showcasing her ability and her improving wrestling skills. She had a great match with Nia which if it went on last, I wouldn’t even be mad.

This was Nia Jax’s best match of her career, in my opinion. It all ended when Mrs Money In The Bank, Alexa Bliss assaulted Ronda Rousey with the briefcase and attacked Nia Jax which led her to cash in where she successfully pinned Jax to capture her 5th Championship.

Winner: Rousey via DQ
Winner: Alexa Bliss

Star Rating: 3.75

Men’s Money In The Bank

And now finally it’s time for the men’s ladder match. The match is really good as Money In The Bank matches usually are. Kofi Kingston was in the match which was a nice thing to see as I expected Big E but I think Kofi suits the match better.

The match felt rather short but the match was enjoyable while it lasted with everybody getting their part in.

Braun Strowman pushed Kevin Owens off the ladder and he crashed right through the table, that was nice. Braun Strowman ended up winning which I was surprised to see because he didn’t need it compared to a guy like Balor or The Miz.

Winner: Braun Strowman

Star Rating: 4

That was Money In The Bank 2018, possibly the best PPV of the year? It was really good!
