Marlon Vera Will Defeat Sean O’Malley

You read the title right, I think Sean O’Malley will take his first loss this Saturday against Marlon Vera and there’s a lot of reason for me to say this. Yes, Sean O’Malley’s a great fighter yet Vera has so many tools that he can win this fight with and I’m going to mention a few of them in this article.

Advantage One: Aggression

Chito Vera is an aggressive fighter and his pressure is something O’Malley - I believe will struggle with as O’Malley likes to keep his distance yet he’s fighting inside the Apex, known for its smaller octagon which automatically gives Vera the edge as this aggression will shine in this smaller environment. And yes I know that Vera has already lost in the Apex however that was a fight that I believe Chito should’ve won so in my eyes, that’s irrelevant.

Advantage Two: Grappling

Marlon Vera’s grappling is fantastic and if he drops you with his immense power then expect him to jump on top of you and try to make you submit. Vera has 7 submission wins, all impressive yet we’ve not really seen O’Malley tested against a grappler yet and Vera has all the tools in one box, he’s got power, he’s got speed, he’s got technique and he has grappling ability which could be worrying for Suga Sean.

Advantage Three: Experience

With three years more experience, Marlon Vera is walking into the octagon with more fights under his belt and I know O’Malley’s most recent win was over Eddie Wineland who has been fighting since 2003 but experience matters more in this fight and let me explain why. Experience isn’t just experience, Vera is 27 and O’Malley is 25, this isn’t a huge age difference yet I think this will be a factor come Saturday night and Vera’s fights in the past will come into affect.

No matter who wins at UFC 252, this is still an incredible fight and a fight I think will be an absolute war. Chito and O’Malley will bring everything to the octagon and they’re still very young so it’s very exciting indeed.
