Khabib Vs. Ferguson: The Big Fight Just Got Bigger

Picture
A few weeks ago, we witnessed Khabib Nurmagomedov dominate Dustin Poirier, a man many people thought was going to actually stop Khabib but Nurmagomedov made Poirier submit in the third round and this now leads us to a potential match up for the lightweight championship between Khabib and Tony Ferguson.

This fight has been booked several times in the past and every time, the fight gets bigger and bigger and now we’re at a point where the two literally have to collide. Ferguson has proven himself as the number one contender so many times as at one point he was even interim champion before getting injured, still he should’ve gotten his shot when he returned but due to Khabib being suspended and with no champion, the UFC decided to have an interim lightweight title before Ferguson came back and the winner was Dustin Poirier. Poirier and Khabib had to fight and they did but now it’s Tony’s time for a title fight.

Like I said earlier, every time this fight gets booked, the fight gets bigger and bigger and now it’s the most talked about fight in the UFC. You have an undefeated monster fighting a man who is just incredibly talented and that’s the fight to make. I can’t see this fight taking place this year due to Khabib not wanting to fight in Vegas again due to last October’s incident that resulted in a suspension and a heavy fine.

The fight is so interesting too as you do have to think how Khabib would wrestle somebody as sharp as Ferguson and even if he does take him down, Tony has more submission wins than Dustin did and in my opinion, a better wrestler too.
