How WWE Should’ve Booked The Women’s Money In The Bank
When WWE first announced the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match two years ago, I was very excited for it. You had a division full of talent, and they just needed a chance. That match was okay, but the sequel last year was a damn great match. Even Lana looked good! When you can make Lana look good, then you know you are doing your job right. This years field looks to be great as well, for the most part (sorry Dana Brooke). While I like most of the field, there are a couple of wrestlers I think deserve to be in the match more than others.
One of the gimmicks of Money in the bank is that there is someone who is willing to do crazy stuff off of ladders. The person in this match would be Naomi, and she is perfect for this match type. She had two title runs a few years ago, but since then she has been middle of the pack of the women’s division. It’s a shame that is the case, as she is someone who is very good in the ring. Naomi has a ton of upside and would benefit a lot from getting the briefcase, and help put her back into the championship scene. My only fear is that if she wins the briefcase, she will make it glow like she did with the Smackdown Women’s Championship.
If you want to see someone who is a solid wrestler that is very good, but just never seemed to be in the perfect position to be a champion, then Natalya is the wrestler for you. She has been in WWE for roughly 12 years, and two title runs later she has finally gotten the recognition that she deserved. She was a pioneer for the women’s division and helped them get to the prominent point that they are at now. I feel like Natalya doesn’t need the briefcase, but she is someone that could have it to feel more legitimate. As long as Becky Lynch is the Raw Women’s Championship (I think we all feel like she will drop the Smackdown one first), you would need to be devious to get the title from her. Being that Natalya is a face, the best way fo her to be devious is to cash in the Money in the Bank on a beat down Becky Lynch.
I can’t stress this enough, Ruby Riott should be a key part of the Raw women’s roster. She has the in ring ability, the promo skills, and even the marketability that WWE loves to see. I think that Riott would be the perfect person to have the briefcase, as we have learned that the best person to hold the briefcase is a slimy heel. That is exactly the case with Riott, and she has so much potential. I would love to see Riott to get a push that she deserves, as she is someone who would be perfect to help rebuild a poor women’s division.
I first saw Sarah Logan in the inaugural Mae Young Classic, and thought that she was a good wrestler. Not fantastic, but very solid. When she debuted on the main roster, I was confused as to why so soon. But after seeing her work in the ring, it was obvious as to why she is on the main roster already. I think that after her showing at Wrestlemania 35 in the women’s battle royal, I think someone is coming around on her backstage, and she is more than ready for the challenge, and you could use this match to help elevate her to break out of the tag team ranks and become someone that they can build up and have her become someone who can be seen as a threat to the Raw Women’s Championship.
She is the often forgotten member of the four horsewomen of the WWE. Bayley is someone who has tons of fans, and is someone who is more than capable of putting on a fantastic match when called on. It’s a shame that she doesn’t get enough credit, as she is fantastic in the ring and has all the tools to be successful champion in WWE, and has looked great since moving to Smackdown. Sometimes a change of scenery is all someone needs, and I think Bayley is going to thrive on Smackdown. She is the perfect person to be a championship chaser, whether Becky or Charlotte is champion coming out of Money in the Bank.
She is the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank winner, and she still would be a perfect person to win the briefcase. I think Carmella has a ton of potential, and now almost a year removed from her title run, she has grown so much as a wrestler. I think that you look at the progress she has made, it is fantastic to see. The next logical step is for her to get to the top of the division again, if she decides to stay in the singles division after the match. I would love to see Carmella win the match, and have her return to her heel roots where she is fantastic. She has been a great face with R-Truth, but that has run its course and now it is time for her to go back heel.
Can you imagine seeing Ember Moon hit the Eclipse from the top of the ladder? That would be awesome. It seems like Ember Moon is someone who they seem to be very high on, and has been pretty successful in her matches on the main roster. She has been someone that has won matches consistently, but has been out of the title picture for far to long. This is the match that can prove that she belongs in the title picture, and we all know just how capable she is and her in ring ability is amazing, and it is time for her to become a main eventer in the women’s division that we know she is.
You know what I said for Ruby Riott? You can say the same for Sonya Deville. She is someone that I wasn’t to sure about at first when she debuted on the main roster. After her participation in the Raw Women’s Championship Elimination Chamber, I started to warm up to her. After her match with Asuka on Smackdown, I became a fan. Deville has come a long way and has so much untapped potential, and this match is what can help with that. She would get so much exposure and this match will help her get just that. All Sonya Deville needs is a chance, and this is just the match for her to do it.
