How WWE Could’ve Booked a Tag Team Money In The Bank
I continue my stay in the what if machine and look at a potential tag team Money in the Bank Ladder Match. A few years ago this was rumored, and I was all for it then, and still am. Could you imagine 16 guys just flying around the ring doing crazy moves? That would be awesome. For this booking, I thought it would be a good idea to see 2 teams from Raw, Smackdown, NXT and NXT UK. Now just who got these two spots? Well let's jump right in
The Revival
Talk about a team that needs a reset button. Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson may be the best tag team in the world, but they just aren’t connecting with the WWE fans for whatever reason. Listen to the crowd reaction when they come out versus when the Usos come out. There is a huge difference, and it is shocking. The team needs something, and a tag team money in the bank win would be helpful. You have them win the briefcase, and then they should begin to win matches too. A Money in the Bank win would be just the jumpstart that The Revival needs.
The Ascension
I am going to reiterate what I said when I predicted the superstar shakeup. Ascension could be a top four team in WWE. After New Day, The Usos and The Revival, there is a steep drop off. You have to build up Heavy Machinery, but that will take some time. Ascension is a team that has been great before. They were fantastic team in NXT, and are former NXT Champions. In a really good tag team division on Raw, they really need something to do and a Money in the Bank match could do just that. You start the rebuild of Ascension, and they can return to form and become the dominant team that we know they can be. While they would be a longshot to win the briefcase, sometimes a big match is all you need to get seen and this would be that match for Ascension.
Heavy Machinery
Imagining these two with ladders is scary. Otis and Tucker haven’t done to much just yet, but they are very talented. I do think they got called up just a bit to early, but they are here now. I think Otis and Tucker will be the first challengers for the Smackdown tag team titles, but they need to start that build up somewhere and a match of this magnitude would be the best for that. You can build a new challenger for a title here and have a ton of momentum from this match. It would be very interesting to see these two big men in this type of match.
Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev
With Smackdown being light on tag teams, it seems like this team might be around for a while, which it fine with me. These two need something to do, and it’s a shame that is the case. Nakamura and Rusev are both great wrestlers, but they are starting to gel very well together. I think that this tag team could be very good and become one of the best teams in the WWE. You also get two of the biggest names in WWE would get to be in a big match on the show, and they offer a lot of experience to this match type. These two are the only ones with experience in this match type, and it would be chaos to have nobody in the match with nobody having experience in it. I also think that these two could be a great tag team and help improve the weak Smackdown tag division.
The Street Profits
Wanna talk about a team that is a lot of fun, then enter the Street Profits. These two have been improving a lot since signing with WWE and have been very active at NXT tapings and even at Evolve, a company that works with WWE. I think these two guys are ready for a challenge, and it seems like they are going to be getting that in NXT. But I think they could use a match like this would be very helpful and allow them to be seen by a wider audience, and it would be a great way to get them over with the fans. It would be really interesting to see Dawkins & Ford in this match, and going against some of the biggest stars in the business, and we can see just how good they are in the ring.
The Undisputed Era
I miss the team of Fish and O’Reilly. They were so good together and they finally get to be back together, it will be so great. These two just get tag team wrestling, and it will be a great time to see the them in a match like this. I think they are one of the best teams of all time and them in this match would add a lot of credibility. These two don’t need the briefcase, but you need some big names in this type of match, and both would look great in this match.
Gallus
This would be a great way to get this team the exposure that they need. Mark Coffey and Wolfgang are very talented wrestlers, that just need an opportunity. They have formed a team with Joe Coffey, and NXT UK does need a few more teams, these two would be a welcomed addition for the tag division, which is why I put them in the match over Moustache Mountain. These two need more to do, and this is the perfect way to get them noticed with the crowd.
Imperium
This is a rather new team and they need some big matches. These are two very talented wrestlers, and now they have a chance to work together. Aichner was good in the Cruiserweight Classic, but now that he is a bonafide heavyweight, he has found his stride and joining with Barthel, WALTER and Wolfe has been very helpful. These two have formed a good dynamic, and will be fun to watch. My biggest question though is what does WWE have against Timothy Thatcher and having Ringkampf in WWE?
As for a winner, I would say Rusev & Nakamura make the most sense. They have proven that they are ready for a good run as a tag team, and are willing to work together. Both could be big singles stars, but I have been enjoying them as a team and I think they need a chance to show just how good of a team they can be as a team. If they cash in on Daniel Bryan & Rowan, I think that would make the fans happy, and get them behind the team.
