How Can Impact Improve?

Picture
Ever since a revamp in January, Impact’s product had really improved but it still isn’t perfect. Impact can still do a lot more to make the show more enjoyable. I’m not saying Impact isn’t enjoyable -it is, I’m just saying they could do a lot more to make it more enjoyable and be seen as serious competitors to other companies.

More Depth In The Tag Team Division

It seems so long ago that Impact had teams like Beer Money, Mainevent Mafia, The Wolves and even the aces and eights. It feels like there is only a handful of tag teams like LAX, oVe, & Scott Steiner and Eli Drake. They could do so much more with their tag division and I think it’s an aspect they need to work on more. The tag team scene could be a thing of wonder but impact isn’t doing anything which benefits the tag teams. That division in particular needs work and I really hope it does.

Focus On The X Division

Back in the day, Impact was only focused on the X-Division, the ultimate X matches were instant classics. Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles had a fantastic triple threat at Unbreakable 2005 for the belt when it was relevant. It still feels like they care about the division but not as much. Just like the tag team division, Impact can do so much more with the X-Division and I hope they do something. The way I’d do something is a 16 Man tournament and the winner would fight the X-Division champion, the wrestlers would have great matches and give Impact the positive publicity it needs.

Earlier UK time

Last year, Impact returned to Spike. All was good, the time was between 9pm to eleven. Perfect. Then later in the year, it moved to 10. The show would finish at midnight but then even later in the year the worse came. The show would air at 11 and finish at 1am! The show would start when the show should’ve ended. I wish the show went back to the original format and would make me tune in week to week, just like the old days.

Mainevent Players

Having Austin Aries back was a step in the right direction, in fact it was 5 steps in the right direction. You also have Eli Drake up there in the mainevent scene along with Johnny Impact, Moose and current Champion, Pentagon Jr. Those aren’t a lot of names. I’m sure you can have a few more names to the scene. Brian Cage will eventually make the leap. But who else? The main event scene needs more bodies and I hope they do something sooner rather than later.

As I said previous, Impact has really improved their game but if they did some more, they’d be taken more seriously. What do you think?
