Errol Spence Vs. Mikey Garcia Prediction

Picture
Next Saturday night from the AT&T stadium which is pretty huge actually as the stadium has a capacity of 100,000 and the stadium has previously held boxing events with Canelo Alvarez and Liam Smith pulling 51,420 people back in 2016. The fight is massive for the welterweight division and a fight which I strongly believe is a significant fight for the weight class in the modern day. It’s a fight which mixes two infamous boxing stories: Orthdox Vs. Southpaw and someone’s 0 has to go.

First of all, I’d just like to say that I’m a huge fan of this match up and with Crawford fighting Khan next month, it looks like exciting times are ahead for the welterweight division and I’m really happy about that. Most of the big names in the division are undefeated; Spence, Garcia, Crawford, and Thurman plus you’ve got Amir Khan and Shawn Porter who is set to defend his WBC welterweight championship tonight against Yordenis Ugás. I’m really happy about where the division is heading and with potential fights between the winner of Spence/Garcia fighting Crawford or Thurman Vs. Khan - it’s fights like these which makes boxing so fun to watch. This isn’t even mentioning the name of the WBA welterweight champion, Manny Pacquiao and despite being 40, his ability to box is still there and he’s not slowing down.

I think I’ve rambled on for a good bit about the welterweight division and let me just check the word count. Yeah, that’ll do it. This fight is a great fight to make in my opinion - it’s a solid fight to predict as it could literally go either way. I’ve seen a lot of issues with this fight from the boxing community with people saying it shouldn’t be PPV or that it’s a mismatch and I could see the reasonings for the PPV argument as neither Spence or Garcia are draws but mismatch? Nah. Both boxers have dynamic skills and that’s what will make this fight so compelling. Spence could win this as he does have the tools to do so, however if t goes be distance - it only increases Garcia’s chances. This is Garcia’s first fight at welterweight so you need to bare that in mind and I think that’s a big factor. Mikey Garcia could potentially pull this off but I’m going to go with Errol Spence in the 8th round due to knockout.
