Edmen Shahbazyan: The Next Big Thing
At the age of 22, Edmen Shahbazyan is set for a bright future in the UFC and he can very well be a future middleweight champion. Shahbazyan is 11-0 and doesn’t show signs of slowing down with so many first round stoppages. Under many peoples’ radars, Shahbazyan is set to be the next big thing.
Fighting on the UFC PPV prelims 3 times in his career, Shahbazyan has finished all of his fights in the UFC being 3-0 as he’s defeated Charles Byrd, Jack Marshman & Brad Tavares - decent opposition and tomorrow night he takes on Derick Brunson. That’s a good fight and it’ll show us if Shahbazyan is a good fighter or if he’s a fluke which I really don’t think he is.
At one point I did think Edmen Shahbazyan could be the youngest UFC champion of all time however that’s changed as he’s 23 in November and if he defeats Brunson tomorrow night, that doesn’t earn him a title shot, I think if he fights someone like Jack Hermansson or the winner of Uriah Hall and Yoel Romero then he’s so close to a title shot however even after that, one more win definitely cements that title shot. Either way, Edmen Shahbazyan is the next big thing in the UFC so keep your eyes open.
