Tony Ferguson Issued Restraining Order From Wife
Let’s start off with a sad story and it’s about Tony Ferguson. His wife, Christina Ferguson has filed for a restraining order against Ferguson after he was displaying uncharacteristic traits such as tearing his fireplace apart, not sleeping for days, severe case of paranoia and his wife believes that he placed a tracking chip in his wife’s leg while she had reconstructive knee surgery. She has stated that she got this so Ferguson (Tony) gets the help he needs. UFC president Dana White has stated that there was a lot of personal issues preventing Tony from fighting in the UFC. Everybody here at All Things Combat wishes Ferguson a speedy recovery.
Josh Warrington Vs. Kid Galahad Delayed
Josh Warrington is set to defend his IBF championship against Kid Galahad in the spring. The fight was set to take place on the 4th of May however due to a hand injury - Warrington would like the fight to be delayed but not by much as he doesn’t think it should be “anywhere past June”.
Conor McGregor Arrested For Smashing Fan’s Phone
Conor McGregor - what’s he done now? Earlier this week, Conor McGregor took a fan’s phone and smashed it on the ground as the fan was snapping pictures of the Irish man. He is now facing a civil lawsuit with the fan. McGregor was in custody for a couple of hours before being released for $5,000.
Gennady Golovkin Signs With DAZN
Earlier this week, Gennady Golovkin has signed a six fight deal with DAZN and has plans to fight two times a year. Now, this obviously opens up a whole range of fights but the one everybody wants to see is Canelo Alvarez as people want a clear winner and they may just get that either this year or next. Golovkin has plans to return in June and we can’t wait.
Deontay Wilder Turns Down $100 Million DAZN Deal
You know who isn’t a fan of DAZN? Deontay Wilder. The WBC Heavyweight Champion has reportedly rejected a deal with DAZN which would pay him $20,000,000 for the Breezale fight and 40 million for both Joshua fights.
Upcoming UFC Fights
Let’s end on a positive, shall we? UFC 237 is in May and three big fights have been announced: Anderson Silva Vs. Jared Cannonier, Jose Aldo and Alexander Volkanovski and the possible main event; Rose Namajunas defending her strawweight title against Jessica Andrade. Alexander Gustafson is set to headline the Stockholm fight night card against recent title challenger, Anthony Smith. The UFC 238 co main event has also been announced with UFC women’s flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko defending her belt against Jessica Eye. There are some great fights coming up.
