WWE Clash Of Champions 2019 Predictions

Written by Ben Hercik & Token
Picture
It's the one PPV of the year where ALL TITLES will be on the line! It's WWE Clash of Champions! Every Championship will be defended and the card looks promising for sure I must say. Let's analyze the card and predict the winners for each bout!
Picture

Drew Gulak (C) Vs. Kalisto Vs. Humberto Carrillo (WWE Cruiserweight Championship)

Ben: It is very tempting to take either Carrillo or Dorado here. The story of this match has been more about them than it has been about Gulak, which is kind of weird to me. The champion in a championship match is the least important part of the match. However, with all that being said, I think Gulak is going to retain here. I doubt that Carrillo and Dorado will be able to work together for the whole match, and knowing how good of a wrestler Gulak is, I think he will capitalize on that and steal a win.

Prediction: Drew Gulak

Token: Looks like this will be a fun Triple Threat Match with some very good action. The Cruiserweights always deliver and this match has the potential to do just that. Both challengers are promising, but I'm predicting Drew Gulak retaining the title here.

Prediction: Drew Gulak

The New Day (C) Vs. The Revival (WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships)

Token: I honestly forgot about this match because of the rivalry between Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston. Big E and Woods have been taken out repeatedly over the past few weeks and honestly, their tag title run has been lackluster. I'm predicting The Revival winning the Tag titles here and hopefully they'll have a good run with them, but that's asking for too much I suppose.

Prediction: The Revival

Ben: It has to be New Day. Raw superstars, and I can’t stress this point enough, should never challenge for Smackdown titles. I do think this will be a good match, but it hasn’t really had much build or been a focal point of Smackdown these past few weeks.

Prediction: The New Day

AJ Styles (C) Vs. Cedric Alexander (WWE United States Championship)

Ben: Talk about a rise coming out of nowhere that a lot of people are happy to see. Ever since coming to Raw from 205 Live, Cedric Alexander has just needed a chance and he got it thanks to the Roman Reigns - Shane McMahon story going on (never say that Shane hasn’t given us anything good from his recent push). While I personally want to see Cedric chase the title more and not see the OC be completely screwed out of all their titles, I think Cedric could win this match and still not win the championship. It will be interesting to see where this push for Alexander goes as, since I doubt that him and Styles are finished after this match.

Prediction: Cedric Alexander

Token: This is a big opportunity for Cedric as he gets his first big title match since his Cruiserweight Championship days. AJ Styles I must admit doesn't need the US title, but I can see some longevity with it. I'm predicting AJ Styles retaining but this will be a good match for sure.

Prediction: AJ Styles

Seth Rollins & Braun Strowman (C) Vs. Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler (WWE RAW Tag Team Championships)

Token: There's a problem here. Both teams are makeshift teams. Neither are legitimate teams. Two makeshift teams competing for the Tag Titles. It sounds sad. It is sad. Roode and Ziggler I will say has the potential to be a good heel team if WWE plays their cards right. I'm predicting Roode and Ziggler winning the titles here and mainly it's because since Rollins and Strowman will be in the main event, I can sense some tensions boiling over in this match.

Prediction: Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler

Ben: I think this match plays into the main event and that’s why I have Roode and Ziggler winning. A tag team championship lose would be a major story for the main event and how Strowman and Rollins imploded earlier in the night. While I don’t expect this to be a long reign for Roode & Ziggler, it has been nice to see Roode on TV and doing something important for the first time in a long time.

Prediction: Ziggler & Roode

Bayley (C) Vs. Charlotte Flair (Smackdown Women’s Championship)

Ben: Bayley has to win her. She has just ‘turned’ heel and needs to hold onto this championship for a while longer. With Charlotte also being a heel, this match kind of feels weird since its ‘heel’ vs heel. But I feel like if Bayley loses here it would really hurt her career, plus they have a chance for us to see Sasha vs Bayley at Survivor Series and with how many fans want to see that, WWE can’t mess it up.

Prediction: Bayley

Token: Now with Bayley's actions recently, this match has some eyeballs on it for sure. Bayley is apparently not a heel, but fans will sure look at her that way going onto this match. Charlotte is Charlotte, so fans will definitely give her the mixed reactions. I'm easily predicting Bayley retaining her title here, but I do sense we'll see an appearance from Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch to even out the odds.

Prediction: Bayley

Shinsuke Nakamura (C) Vs. The Miz (WWE Intercontinental Championship)

Token: With Sami Zayn by Nakamura's side, Miz will need to have eyes in the back of his head if he wants to win the title here. Miz has brought some legitimacy to that Championship in the Modern Era as I was a big fan of his last IC title run. Nakamura is great, but of course never gets to be used on TV for unknown reasons. I'm predicting Nakamura retaining the title because I just don't see Miz winning it back anytime soon.

Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura

Ben: Talk about an Intercontinental Championship dream match nobody thought we would ever want to see. You have one of the best WWE Intercontinental Champions in history going against one of the greatest IWGP Intercontinental Champions in history. This one is a bit of a toss up as to who will win, but in the end, I feel like Miz is probably going to win the championship all because of the most reigns in history record. That record is currently held by Chris Jericho, and I don’t know if you know this or not, but WWE isn’t really happy with Jericho right now. Miz sits at 8 Intercontinental Championship reigns, only one behind Jericho’s 9 reigns. I fear this title will play hot potato for a little bit, so that Miz can get the record.

Prediction: The Miz
Picture

Roman Reigns Vs. Erick Rowan (No Disqualification)

Ben: While the no disqualification stipulation does allow for Daniel Bryan to get involved, I feel like that is what will cost Rowan the match. Bryan and Rowan aren’t on the same page and that will allow for Reigns to capitalize. Plus, I think it’s time for Roman to go back to the main event picture, and a win here will be a step in that direction.

Prediction: Roman Reigns

Token: Rowan has been made to look like a monster over the past 2 weeks and it's probably the only time I've seen him look a little bit serious. Just a little bit. Still not buying him in that role. With this attacker storyline still going on, I can't see Roman losing here as the storyline could be further on going into Hell in a Cell next month. I'm predicting Roman Reigns winning here.

Prediction: Roman Reigns
Picture

Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross (C) Vs. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville (WWE Women Tag Team Championships)

Token: As of late, Rose and Deville have been getting better with their team work. Not only that, but their new name "Fire and Desire" sounds pretty cool. Alexa and Nikki I must say have been working well as a team as their chemistry is starting to grow a little more. I'm predicting Alexa and Nikki retaining their titles.

Prediction: Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross

Ben: This one is a little hazy at best, because neither team has much momentum going into the match. Deville and Rose won in a tag match two weeks ago, but then Cross beat Rose last week on Smackdown. I’m going to base my prediction on the fact that Bliss was in the photoshoot for Smackdown moving to Fox, so I feel like their title reign may be coming to an end soon. There really is no other team to take the titles from them since I’m assuming that Peyton Royce is enjoying her honeymoon with Shawn Spears so the Iiconics are out for a while.

Prediction: Rose & Deville
Picture

Becky Lynch (C) Vs. Sasha Banks (RAW Women’s Championship)

Ben: I think this might be a holdover match, just so this feud can go until Hell in a Cell. I do think that Sasha will win the title at some point, but I see Becky leaving with the championship here, via DQ or some other form of shenanigans. It’s probably a safe bet that this will be one of the Hell in a Cell matches for the show, just with how well this feud has been booked for the most part. A big blow off is just what these two need, and it’s perfect since Survivor Series is just around the corner.

Prediction: Becky Lynch

Token: This will be Sasha's first PPV match since Wrestlemania. Becky has been killing it as RAW Women's Champion since Wrestlemania but at the same time, I'm kinda tired of seeing her be champion. She's better in the chaser role in my honest opinion. I'm predicting Sasha Banks winning the title here.

Prediction: Sasha Banks
Picture

Baron Corbin Vs. Chad Gable (King Of The Ring; Finals)

Token: This match should've taken place at Clash of Champions but whatever. I'll give Corbin his props though. He's been doing pretty well in the tournament. Gable on the other hand gained so much momentum it's quite amazing. He's got this perfect underdog story going into this match and fans for sure will be by his side. This match was a toss up to be but I made my choice clearly. WWE has got something with Gable that they can't possibly pass up on. They would be fools to. I'm predicting Chad Gable winning here and becoming the 2019 King of the Ring!

Prediction: Chad Gable

Ben: At first, I thought there was no way I was going to be saying this in the finals of this tournament. Corbin had nothing going for him as he had just lost three straight matches to Rollins. I think that this tournament has been just what Corbin needed. He is someone that is very underrated in the ring, especially for someone who had no wrestling experience before signing with WWE. Just please let him wear normal wrestling attire after this tournament and not dress pants.

Prediction: Baron Corbin
Picture

Kofi Kingston (C) Vs. Randy Orton (WWE Championship)

Ben: This is the hardest match of the show to predict. I’ve really liked Kofi’s reign as WWE Champion, and would like it to last a little longer, but if Orton doesn’t win it here, there is only one other person I can see taking that title from Kofi and it’s something nobody wants to see. That person is Brock Lesnar. Let’s keep Lesnar out of this and put the title on Orton. Plus if Orton is champion, that allows for Roman Reigns to get back into the title picture without having to have him beat Kofi and get booed out of the building in doing so.

Prediction: Randy Orton

Token: This rivalry picked up a bit after their Summerslam match last month, which was extremely underwhelming. Orton has been one upping Kofi ever since he allied himself with The Revival and Kofi has been fighting back for sure, but still would end up being laid out somehow except for this past Tuesday's Smackdown. I predict Kofi Kingston retaining his title.

Prediction: Kofi Kingston
Picture

Seth Rollins (C) Vs. Braun Strowman (WWE Universal Championship)

Token: No matter the outcome of their RAW Tag Titles Match, these guys will beat each other up for the top prize on their brand. These guys enjoy being tag champs but clearly Braun clearly has his eyes set on the Universal Championship. Rollins is a fighting champion so this won't be an easy bout for sure. I'm predicting Seth Rollins retaining his title here and with that, The Fiend will be waiting for him.......in hell.

Prediction: Seth Rollins

Ben: From the hardest match to predict, to one of the easier ones. Rollins retaining here just makes the most sense. I still feel like this match with Strowman and the possible match with The Fiend are just filler until Drew McIntyre is fully healed and back in the ring. Raw kind of has a problem in the heel department right now, and that has really affected Rollins reigns as Universal Champion.

Prediction
: Seth Rollins
