Chris Jericho Vs. Chris Benoit (Royal Rumble 2001)
This week I will be reviewing Chris Jericho vs Chris Benoit on a ladder match for the intercontinental championship at the Royal Rumble 2001.
Jericho enters first with a explosive start to his music followed by Benoit’s normal entrance.
The match starts with Jericho laying in to Benoit with some right hands then switches to chops.
Jericho then tries to lock in the walls of Jericho very early on but is kicked away then sent right in to the ring post then Benoit keeps the pressure on Jericho.
Jericho then goes for the springboard dropkick but falls over the rope but rolls back in as Benoit bring in and sets up a ladder but Jericho stops him mid climb.

Jericho then puts Benoit in the corner and hits him with the ladder eight to the face and to top it off he does it again, he the puts the ladder on the top rope to Irish wipe Benoit into it but is reversed and goes in to it himself.
Benoit goes for a dive but gets fought with a chair shot to the head mid air, Jericho then puts benoit so he balancing on the barricade then drops the ladder on him, but Benoit moves and hits Jericho with it.
Benoit provides to hit Jericho with a chair before throwing him it to the ladder, he goes for it again but Jericho reverses and pushes Benoit in to it.
Jericho picks up the ladder but gets it dropkicked into him, but somehow he gets control of the match again, Benoit goes down and Jericho starts to climb the ladder he set up.
BUT Benoit gets up in time and throws Jericho right out the ring, then he starts to climb but some how someway Jericho find enough anger to carry on.
Then out of nowhere Jericho gets the walls of Jericho on, on top of the ladder.
When he finally let's go, Benoit falls but kicks over the ladder and Jericho falls too.
Jericho gets up first and sets up the ladder but Benoit gets a cross face lock on Jericho and he taps, but that means nothing.
Jericho manages to throw Benoit in to the ladder while screaming "get up you son of a bitch" which Michael Cole seems to like. Vintage Jericho!
What follows is just a minute of punches back and forward before Benoit goes for the diving headbutt off the top of the ladder but Jericho move in time.
Then it goes back to punches and ladders being thrown with the odd chair shot before Benoit is thrown to the outside and a one armed Jericho climbs to victory.
All in all its a good match with alot of big ladder spots which is better in person so that's why I'm going to give this match 3 and a half stars out of 5.
I've been Ben, tune in next Wednesday for another review!
