Canelo Alvarez Vs. Daniel Jacobs Prediction
Tonight we see the middleweight division take one step further io unification as Canelo Alvarez defends his WBA and WBC title while Jacobs is defending his IBF championship. While this fight takes place, Demetrius Andrade will be watching with his WBO title around his waist preparing to fight the winner. Who’s going to win one of the biggest fights of the year so far, here’s who I predict.
First of all, this fight will be closer than a lot of people think. I’ve seen people think this will be a one sided beat down from Canelo and I definitely don’t think that’s what’s going to happen. Jacobs will be harder to beat than Fielding and I think Canelo knows that and that’s why I think this will go longer than many people think. Canelo’s last fight ended in the third round with Fielding dropping in every round and I can’t imagine Jacobs being knocked down in the opening rounds. When he fought Golovkin, Jacobs got dropped in the fourth round with a short right hand and while I think Canelo will knock Jacobs down, I just don’t think it’ll be as early as the fourth.
I can see Jacobs putting early pressure on Canelo but that’s where Canelo will gain an advantage, if you put the pressure on Canelo then Canelo will find openings and that man has crazy power. When Alvarez fought Khan, Khan threw two jabs and when he went for a third - bam! A big right hook from Canelo. Jacobs has to be careful that he doesn’t let Canelo find an opening but when you fight Canelo, it isn’t that easy.
My prediction for this fight is a Canelo stoppage in the 9th round, it could be earlier or it could be later but the 9th round sounds like a solid prediction for the Mexican to pick up his third middleweight title.
