Bellator 220 Predictions
It’s always good to go back to Bellator to predict their events and I think the last event we predicted for them was Bellator 201 so it’s great to be doing this again and if this goes well, then expect to see more Bellator predictions.
Gaston Bolanos Vs. Nathan Stolen (Lightweight)
Dublin’s own Gaston Bolanos takes on the superman, Nathan Stolen in what should be a great opening contest. This should be fun and I’m going with Stolen with a knockout victory despite Bolanos never being knocked out.
Prediction: Nathan Stolen (Round 2; TKO)
Prediction: Nathan Stolen (Round 2; TKO)
Phil Davis Vs. Liam McGeary (Light Heavyweight)
Next up, we have light heavyweight action and it’s Phil Davis fighting Liam McGeary. McGeary is entering the cage coming off a big win against King Mo - Davis also has a victory over Mo. Both men are in their thirties but I’ll go with McGeary by decision.
Prediction: Liam McGeary (Decision)

Benson Henderson Vs. Adam Piccolotti (Lightweight)
I think Adam Piccolotti will win this by submission, Henderson will submit in the second round. Henderson has been fighting since 2006 and at a record of 26-8, how much can he offer in the world of MMA?
Prediction: Adam Piccolotti (Round 2; Submission)
Prediction: Adam Piccolotti (Round 2; Submission)
Ilima-Lei MacFarlane (C) Vs. Veta Arteaga (Bellator Women’s Flyweight Championship)
I don’t think anybody in the Bellator women’s flyweight can stop MacFarlane and she may as well just continue dominating in the division and I don’t see her reign ending here and I predict a victory in the third round with a submission hold - most likely an arm bar or a triangle choke.
Prediction: Ilima-Lei MacFarlane (Round 3; Submission)
Prediction: Ilima-Lei MacFarlane (Round 3; Submission)
Rory MacDonald (C) Vs. Jon Fitch (Bellator Welterweight Championship)
After failing to become a double champion, Rory MacDonald is heading back down to welterweight to defend his title against Jon Fitch. Fitch hasn’t lost his last 5 fights at welterweight so it’s going to be a great match up. I’m going with a MacDonald retention but I can see this being a 5 round brawl and I’ll go with MacDonald to retain in an all out war.
Prediction: Rory MacDonald (Decision)
