The first of 4 PPVs for AEW has happened last night and it certainly was a revolution! 7 stacked matches that had some interesting buildups leading up to the encounters and this PPV was one that could not be missed whatsoever! Let's not waste anymore time and go straight to the review for AEW Revolution.

Buy-In: SCU Vs. The Dark Order

Standard tag action here as both teams delivered some decent maneuvers. Dark Order worked over Frankie Kazarian for a bit while Scorpio Sky attempted to get involved in the match at any cost. Kazarian fought Stu Grayson and Evil Uno for a bit but also had to deal with John Silver and Alex Reynolds at ringside as well. Scorpio Sky finally comes in and goes wild Grayson and Uno while having the crowd behind him and tried to hit the SCU Later on Grayson, but Uno pulled Kazarian out of the ring beforehand and tossed him into the steps. Scorpio attempted a Boston Crab on Grayson but Uno comes in and nails Sky in the back of his head with the Blackout Clothesline, then Grayson pins Sky for the three count and gains the win! Dark Order would continue to attack SCU until suddenly, Colt Cabana arrives to aid SCU! Cabana would then be overwhelmed by Dark Order and they thought they've left a mark in the ring until we see a man dressed in all black show up on stage. That man turned out to be Christopher Daniels and he leaps onto Dark Order to take them out along with his SCU pals and Colt Cabana! Daniels hits the Angel's Wings on Alex Reynolds then celebrates with everyone as he proved her that he's SCU for life!

Jake Hager Vs. Dustin Rhodes

Solid match to kick off the PPV as this was Jake Hager's debut match in AEW. Hager's wife Catalina White was front row for this match to support her husband but that didn't stop Dustin Rhodes from delivering pain. The two men would battle back and forth for a while and all over the place from in and out of the ring. Hager at one point tried to consult with his wife but Dustin came over not only to assault him, but to give Hager's wife a kiss as well! Dustin would continue to have control for a while til Rhodes came back with his natural offense and even teased to hit the Shattered Dreams. He didn't hit the shot but still got the chance to low blow Hager and almost had him beat for a second. Later on, the referee had her back turned when Hager delivered his knee to Dustin's groin and applied an MMA style Chokehold for Dustin to pass out unconsciously! Jake Hager picked up the submission win in his first AEW match and he performed solid overall.

Sammy Guevara Vs. Darby Allin

Crazy match! As Darby made his entrance to the ring, he wasted no time and went right after Sammy Guevara before the match even began. The two literally would go on to have a crazy fight before officially beginning the match that concluded with Sammy Guevara propping Allin on a table and successfully executing the 630 Splash on him through the table! Crowd was on their feet for this one and the two would then roll into the ring surprisingly to finally begin the match and they went on to have a very good match. Allin attempted a few submission holds but Sammy overcame them and executes some of his big moves that couldn't put Allin down. Sammy even executed the Avalanche Spanish Fly off the top rope that would turn out to be a near fall! Allin finally came back and hits some quick offensive moves that fatigued Sammy for a bit. Allin finally had enough and hits a huge Coffin Drop for the win then afterwards, he tried to use his skateboard on Sammy but Jake Hager came out to drag him out of the ring. Darby Allin came out on top and got his revenge on the Spanish God!

Hangman Page & Kenny Omega (C) Vs. The Young Bucks (AEW Tag Team Championships)

My God, this was tag team wrestling at best! This match had it all: great wrestling, great storytelling, hard hitting action, epic near falls, and teamwork! Early on in the match, Matt Jackson extended his hand for a handshake to Adam Page but Page decided instead of shaking the man's hand, he SPAT in his face! From there on out, Matt's whole demeanor changed as he began wrestling more of a heelish style. Actually, The Young Bucks were booed throughout the match as the fans did not want to see these guys win the tag team championships. Adam Page and Kenny Omega had some moments where they weren't on the same page but over time they would work together. So much had happened throughout the match with big spots and near falls that had fans on their feet. Matt and Page fought on the ramp at one point where Matt got the upper hand and he demanded for Nick to come by them. Matt got Page in the Tombstone Piledriver position then Young Bucks hit the Meltzer Driver on the ramp! That looked brutal! Later on, Kenny Omega gained control by striking both Bucks with the V-Trigger then Page tagged in to hit Matt with the One Wing Angel for a near fall! Both guys then hit the V-Trigger/Buckshot Lariat combo only for Nick to break up the pin. Nick was on the ramp for a moment when Adam Page hits him with the Buckshot Lariat then sees Matt in the ring, then decides to hit one more Buckshot Lariat and that was enough for the win! Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page retained the AEW World Tag Team Championships in what was a fantastic match and if you guys haven't seen it, please go out of your way to watch it!

Nyla Rose (C) Vs. Kris Statlander (AEW Women’s Championship)

Unfortunately, this was the weakest match on the show. Both women, especially Kris Statlander, looked off in the match and it was just not good. Kris in particular was a little botchy and had trouble hitting some moves. Nyla Rose didn't do a whole lot but she wasn't too bad. After a few minutes of back and forth battle, both women were on the top rope when suddenly Nyla hits the Beast Bomb to retain the AEW Women's Championship! Not much to note for the match as it was just very dull.

Cody Vs. MJF

Good match that had some big emotions going into it. Once the bell ranged, Cody went straight for MJF but he would stall for a bit as he wanted no part of the angered Cody. Cody would finally get his hands on him and the two would go on to have a decent match. MJF at one point got busted open and the man's face was covered in blood in which this added to the story of the match. Cody wanted to do whatever it takes to get revenge on MJF for what he put him through leading to this match, and he wouldn't stop until MJF was decimated. Wardlow attempted to get involved but that's where Brandi Rhodes comes in as she ran across the apron to dive on him! The big man caught her though and Cody witness this all as he confronted Wardlow, demanding that he put his wife down. Arn Anderson just so happens to be standing behind Wardlow then as Cody ran towards him, Wardlow side steps him and Cody ended up accidentally striking Arn! MJF would gain the advantage and worked over Cody for a bit, having everyone believed that he could possibly dethrone the man. Cody bounced back with great momentum and even ended up hitting the Cross Rhodes! Cody wasn't done there as he attempted to hit another one but Wardlow got on the apron but Cody would knock him off. While that whole thing was going on, MJF somehow pulled out the Dynamite Diamond Ring and absolutely knocked Cody out with it! Cody was down, MJF crawled onto him, and surprisingly that was enough for MJF to get the pin!! MJF defeated Cody and this was definitely a shocking moment as many people thought Cody would gain his retribution and come out on top.

PAC Vs. Orange Cassidy

This match started off with comedy, but turned out to be a very good match! Orange Cassidy of course started the match with his brutal assaults to PAC, but the Basturd wasn't gonna take the pain too long and overcame Cassidy. For a while, PAC had Cassidy fatigued as he wouldn't allow him to gain any offense. Cassidy fought back a little bit but PAC wasn't gonna allow the man to have much offense. As minutes went by, a fire was lit inside of Cassidy and the unthinkable happened, Cassidy finally started to TRY! Cassidy suddenly turned into a maniac as he dished out some epic moves into a big ariel attack off the top rope. Cassidy even nailed a big Superman Punch that knocked PAC loose for a bit. Cassidy would then hit a Stunner for a near fall and man he was all over the place! Trent and Chuckie T cheered on their friend but then suddenly The Lucha Bros came out and attacked Trent! Chuckie T would then take them out with a dive and Cassidy was distracted by all out of this. PAC got Cassidy down and applied the Brutalizer for the submission win as Cassidy passed out from the hold. Orange Cassidy sure did try his best in this match, but at the end the Basturd would emerge victorious in what was a really good match.

Chris Jericho (C) Vs. Jon Moxley (AEW Championship)

Main event time! Chris Jericho would have an epic entrance as he had a choir sing Judas before he made his appearance for the match! After the introduction, the match officially began and both men began fighting immediately and they were all over the place as they fought in the crowd then all around ringside. Jericho even put Moxley through a table to slow him down with such pain. Jericho pulled out all the stops in this match as he had The Inner Circle interfer any chance they could get. Hager made an appearance but got knocked down quickly along with Santana and Ortiz. The referee had enough of The Inner Circle so she ejected all three men from ringside but as they went to the back, Sammy Guevara came from the side and nailed Moxley in the face with the championship belt! Moxley was busted open here but he didn't stop going after Jericho as now he had the man all to himself. After making his big comeback sequence, Moxley ended up taking off his eye patch as he had his vision back for quite some time! Moxley put the nail in the coffin by hitting a big Paradigm Shift for the win and successfully gained the AEW World Championship!!! Jon Moxley is the new AEW World Champion and he would go on to celebrate with the fans to close out Revolution!
