5 Boxing Prospects to Keep an Eye Out For In 2020
Recently we did an article about boxing prospects and the best prospects but I really don’t think we mentioned rising prospects that haven’t had too many fights. We instead mentioned fighters such as Devin Haney who’s had over 20 fights and even was WBC interim lightweight champion at the time of the article being produced but we left out so many underrated boxers that are finding their way and are about to break out in 2020 so we think it’s only fair, we took a different route and revisit the article so let’s get started.
5) Dalton Smith (5-0)
Dalton Smith is at the age of 23 and has fought five times with four of them being stoppages. Within 6 months, he fought 4 times which is really good for a prospect. The Matchroom star is set for a bright future as he’s already picked up a win in March making him 1-0 this year. In just over a year, Dalton Smith is 5-0 and he can definitely fit into the super lightweight division.
4) Rhys Edwards (10-0)
Onto the next boxer now, super featherweight Rhys Edwards is recently turned 20 and is already 10-0. The orthodox boxer has boxed 38 rounds so he has already gained experience in the ring. The Welsh boxer can definitely make an impact when he continues to box so do definitely keep an eye out for Edwards.
3) Nathaniel Collins (7-0)
Despite being one of the boxers on this list with the least wins, Nathaniel Collins is still an incredibly underrated boxing prospect. Apart of Team Ham, Collins has been boxing his way up and slowly (but surely) getting attention. The Nightmare is the Celtic featherweight champion and I don’t think it’s too long until he becomes a big name and even start to appear on some popular cards so the world begins to see his potential.
2) Ukashir Farooq (13-1)
Many people actually thought Ukashir Farooq defeated Lee McGregor and should still be undefeated however the judges gave it a split decision to McGregor and here we are. Farooq has only fought in Scotland so far however that is soon to be changed at the end of June where he fights in Newcastle with should be a great watch as Farooq definitely has the talent to go far in the boxing world at the young age of 24.
1) Mladen Miljas (12-0)
Mladen Miljas has 12 wins with all of them being TKO’s. The Canadian heavyweight boxer is 27 and is definitely not a force to be reckoned with. I do think Miljas has potential to be a great heavyweight and I hope we see in bigger fights very soon.
