5 Potential Fights That Should Happen Within The Next Year
Boxing today has a lot of great fighters and there’s so many possibilities for big fights to happen so today, I’ll be writing about boxing matches that should happen within the next year.
Anthony Joshua Vs. Deontay Wilder
This fight is currently being talked about by both parties and I believe at this time, they’re organising the prices for both fighters involved. This fight has a big chance of happening before 2019 but according to boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn “Deontay Wilder’s management won’t meet me for wont meet me for negations”. It’s only a matter of time to see if this fight happens or not but it’s likely this fight will happen eventually.
Prediction: Deontay Wilder
Carl Frampton Vs. Leo Santa Cruz III
Frampton beat Cruz, Cruz beat Frampton. We need a decider to see who the better boxer is. Frampton recently beat Nonito Donaire and Cruz defeated Chris Avalos. I hope we see this fight this year as it would be a brilliant fight and the last fight these two would have against each other.
Prediction: Leo Santa Cruz
Chris Eubank Jr. Vs BJ Saunders II
Eubank was on a winning streak until Saunders came along to beat him by split decision. He quickly recovered and went on a winning streak until he fought George Grooves this year and hasn’t fought since. I hope we see a Eubank Vs. Saunders rematch and hope it’s even better than the first.
Prediction: BJ Saunders
Prediction: BJ Saunders
Canelo Alvarez Vs. Gennady Golovkin II
These two had a great first match and the rematch was scheduled for the fifth of May until Canelo got suspended for “contaminated meat”. Instead, Golovkin will fight Vanes Martirosyan in a fight which will be slightly worse than the anticipated rematch. This fight will happen at some point but I’m hoping it’s within the next 12 months.
Prediction: Gennady Golovkin
Amir Khan Vs. Kell Brook
These boxers are a lot more similar than they’d like to admit but they’re practically the same boxer. The similar boxers would be interesting to see and a great fight. Khan got a 40 second knockout on Phil Lo Greco last week and Brook’s last fight was against Sergey Rabchenko which Brook won in the second round.
Prediction: Kell Brook
