10 Wrestlers Who Can Beat Pete Dunne For The UK Title
WWE has announced the UK tournament and there is some good names in the pile like El Ligero who has circled the UK independent scene like a good sixty times. Travis Banks is also in there -despite originating from New Zealand but it’s got the UK flag in the flag so I guess that counts. Banks is the current PROGRESS champion. Joe Coffey has also been confirmed and that’s good business because if anybody can put on a good match, it’s Joe Coffey. The UK title scene can be built around Coffey and Joseph Conners is back so that’s another good thing. Zack Gibson will also make the tournament fascinating and I’m looking forward to it. I’m excited and I can’t wait for the tournament but for now, here’s ten wrestlers who can beat Pete Dunne for the UK title.
10: Joe Coffey
We already touched on Coffey and how the division could be built around him but he’s a serious contender for the belt and he could even win the whole tournament to then challenge Dunne the next night and win the championship there. “The Ironman” is a fantastic Scottish wrestler and would do wonders for WWE as their UK champion.
He had a great run in ICW and won the top belt there. He can work great as a bad guy and works as a good guy just as well. Sadly, I don’t see Coffey beating Dunne and I don’t think WWE sees him as a serious contender but they should because he really is a great wrestler.

9: Tyler Bate
Let’s talk about the first UK champion, the man Dunne beat for it. Tyler Bate. Bate and Dunne have amazing in ring chemistry and have put on great matches, just look at Takeover: Chicago for example. If Tyler Bate fight Pete Dunne again, would it be repetitive? I don’t know, we’ve see the match so many times and I don’t know if we should see it again.
If Tyler Bate doesn’t get another shot, he could easily fight Cedric Alexander for the cruiserweight championship in a match which would be fantastic to see. I hope Bate does get gold again and I hope it’s with Trent Seven for the NXT Tag Team Championships. I’ll take Tyler Bate Vs. Pete Dunne For The UK title again, just to see the title doing something but the match would be fun to see on an episode of NXT.

8: El Ligero
The “Mexican Sensation” who is from Leeds. El Ligero is a fantastic wrestler who I’m sure will do great in the tournament and will most likely make it to the quarter or even semi finals. Ligero is a great addition to any wrestling related event and I’m sure he’s gonna do brilliant in the tournament.
Ligero could even go to 205 Live and really improve the product -though it’s already improved. I’d like to see El Ligero on WWE TV a lot more than just the UK tournament and let the “Leeds Sensation” really do what he does best.

7: Joseph Conners
I think Conners was one of the best WCPW champions and I actually think he was the best now that I think about it. He was a great wrestler who put on great title defences every time he had a match.
He made it to the quarter-finals in last year’s tournament but lost to Mark Andrews. It’s good for Conners to be involved again.

6: Trent Seven
It’s time to hear about the final member of British Strong Style - Trent Seven. It feels like he’s the least popular and the least included out of the 3 in the UK division but I’m sure he’ll rise up.
Seven has unlimited potential and I hope it doesn’t get wasted. Seven could be a great singles wrestler along with a great tag team wrestler. If he doesn’t get a shot at the UK title, I hope he and Bate finds Tag Team gold in NXT.
