10 Modern Day Dream Boxing Match-Ups
Who doesn’t love a good dream fight? There’s only thing better about the possibility of a dream fight and that’s if said dream match becomes a reality so we decided to look at modern day boxing and count down 10 dream fights.
10) Deontay Wilder Vs. Tyson Fury II
Hopefully this fight can be done in 2019 if not then a deal to confirm the fight would be great. It’s time these two heavyweight giants clash once again as it gives Fury a chance to claim the WBC title and it gives Wilder a shot at proving he can beat Fury because the first fight really didn’t show that, beside the knockdowns Wilder didn’t do much. This would be just as exciting
if not more exciting as the first and I really hope this fight happens sooner rather than later.

9) Ryan Garcia Vs. Gervonta Davis
I think this would really be an interesting match up. Ryan Garcia is a very young super featherweight prospect at the age of 20 and Tank Davis is a 24 year old WBA champion. Both boxers are undefeated and Davis has an incredible knockout percentage of 95%. This fight would be so entertaining and has to happen in the near future.
8) Dillon Whyte Vs. Oleksandr Usyk
Ever since Usyk made the jump to heavyweight, I’ve wanted him to fight the best and I don’t him to fight the champions just yet so a match up against Whyte would be a massive test for the Ukrainian and this could realistically happen after Usyk fights Takam in a few weeks time. Whyte is always up for a challenge and this may be one of Whyte’s toughest challenges in his career.
7) Carl Frampton Vs. Léo Santa Cruz III
The trilogy has to happen. This featherweight fight has to happen as Frampton won the first fight by decision and Santa Cruz won the second fight a year later. This could potentially take place this summer and this year has to be the year this fight happens.
6) BJ Saunders Vs. Canelo Alvarez
This fight would be really entertaining whether it’s at middleweight or super middleweight. We’ve seen BJ Saunders outbox his way to victory in the past but can he outbox Gennady Golovkin? I can say right now with 100% confidence that Saunders will not drop Golovkin - that’s not an insult to Saunders it’s just that a tank couldn’t drop Golovkin. This fight in my eyes would go the distance but it would be such a CLOSE match up and extremely hard to predict.
5) Canelo Alvarez Vs. Callum Smith
This has to be a hard one to predict. This would take place at super middleweight and I’d think it would take place in the United Kingdom. Smith is a big guy and Canelo already being small would have a tough fight. This would be a big fight and a fight that needs to take place.
4) Vasyl Lomachenko Vs. Mikey Garcia
Lomachenko is the pound for pound best but will have a big test if he fights Mikey Garcia. Garcia recently went on to welterweight to fight Errol Spence Jr. where he got outboxed but he definitely does his best at lightweight. Garcia shkd go back down to Lightweight and a fight against Lomachenko would elevate both men’s careers.
3) Anthony Joshua Vs. Tyson Fury
Would Anthony Joshua knock out Fury or would Fury outbox Joshua and win on points? I don’t know and that’s what makes this fight so great and I really hope this fight happens after the rematch between Wilder and Fury with hopefully Fury holding the WBC heavyweight championship and we can finally see the heavyweight division unification at Wembley stadium. I expect this fight to happen in the second half of 2020 or early 2021 and if it doesn’t happen then that’s just a tragedy.
2) BJ Saunders Vs. Canelo Alvarez
We’ve talked about Canelo Vs. Smith and we’ve talked about Golovkin Vs. Saunders but what about Canelo Vs. Saunders? This would be a great match up and one which can realistically happen if Canelo jumps to super middleweight. This would be a fantastic fight and a really fascinating match-up between two very popular boxers.
1) Terence Crawford Vs. Errol Spence Jr.
I don’t know who would win his fight. I don’t know who would win half of these fights on the list but on those fights I would have made an educated guess but for this one - I can’t, I literally can not predict the winner. These two are two of the best welterweight boxers in recent history, Crawford Vs. Spence would be an absolute brilliant match up - it is the best verses the best and that’s what boxing is all about.
